I was in the brigade since december 2018 and stopped paying for it in july 2021. And I only stopped because I never received the member patch after three attempts to contact them. Other than that…they mostly play nothing but grandpa metal or mainstream garbage. No disrespect to the founders but there is literally tons of metal bands not getting enough attention. I understand some stuff cannot be played because of licensing issues and what have you. But I see way too much attention for bands that get plenty of support already. Every once and awhile they have djs that play decent death and black metal but hardly ever. For what it is, it’s a great idea; just poorly executed. Show more

I love GimmeMetal. Especially when it feels like there’s someone behind the wheel updating content in a timely manner. Sadly, that’s not the case. It can feel like an abandoned wasteland most of the time. It can take weeks or months for the vault to be updated with DJ shows once they’ve aired. And do you like the ability to search for content? I guess GimmeMetal doesn’t agree with you because there’s no search functionality at all. Be prepared for endless scrolling on a slow loading UI. For what I pay monthly on top of the vinyl subscription, I expect better and hope the folks over at GimmeMetal get more serious about the UX and updating material with a purpose. Show more

Can’t get to work on iPhone at all. Can’t get it to open what so ever. Very disappointed it doesn’t work. Was very looking forward to using it. ?

I love the service and paying for it gets you access to the vault.The playback is constantly better when I use my iPhone and the episodes I listened to will recognize what is left for me to listen to if I pause a show and come back for the day.Even if I close out the app ,for some reason the play version is much more clunky.I would like a little check mark or something to click after I listen to a show,going back in order.The DJs all are excellent are blending music in and the like feature if you find a new song is excellent.Worth paying for the service.
