There is a huge library of songs in the app, I was super impressed. On top of this I was able to drill all kinds of different scales and improve my improvisation skills. All of this can be done with the app alone or with the led hardware, which was surprisingly helpful for navigating even as a more advanced player. I bought on the Kickstarter campaign and they sent the zealot. I didn’t have a guitar yet so I waited. Got the guitar after many months and IT DIDNT FIT!! Contacted the company who sent another sized zealot out right away, no questions asked! Now I’m rocking like a rock star (a legend in my own mind of course)! But the courses are easy and fun. So in my case I’m a solider so I’m saving money but I TRIED IT MULTIPLE TIMES FROK A FRIEND. and I’m just tellin you shortly this is the best ever tool I have seen!! It so good for learning scales and notes and chords on the guitar quickly! U can also turn it to a light show while performing with the guitar ;) and play a lot of songs built in with this app! What a cool way to learn guitar. It really helps to keep you engaged, and motivates you to pickup the guitar each day, which is key to making you a better player. The app has continued to improve and can’t wait to see what they come out with next! My only downside is for the hardware itself. The plastic they use to encase the LED’s, is a little sticky, and is difficult to wipe dust off of. Show more

I purchased the Fret Zealot around March of this year (2020) and 6 months later it has become the best investment in my journey to learning nearly every aspect of guitar playing. Fret Zealot started as a Kickstarter Campaign that was a huge success and they actually followed through with an amazing piece of hardware to add to my guitar which keeps things interesting and fun all the time. I must edit my review and up it to 5 stars. Upon reading my review the company contacted me and we went over the issues I was having. The issues were handled quickly and professionally. The owners are willing to help and make Fret Zealot the top guitar learning method out there and I think they are well on their way. Their customer service is second to none. The concept that fret zealot has makes it very easy to learn guitar especially if you are a visual or hands on learner like I am. I would recommend them to anyone looking to learn guitar the easy way. Thanks Fret Zealot and “Sam” for all your help. Fret Zealot is a very good learning tool in my opinion. However, in order to get the LED strip to fit my Schecter S1 custom fret board. I had a hard time getting the fret strips to fit within the actual fret spacing on my guitar and after I did and went to bend the LED strip over to attach it to the neck the difference in fret position ALMOST caused me to nearly kink the strip in several places. Thankfully I caught it before damage was done but now the strip that runs up the side of the neck is a VERY wavy line instead of a straight one which caused problems with adhesion under the strings and along the side strip as well as an uncomfortable feeling for my thumb that runs along the side of the neck while playing. I’m not sure how to fix this but something needs to be done. I got the 25.5” that said it fit the Schecter Guitars. VERY Disappointed in the fit and finish of the LED strip to the point I nearly took it off and tossed it in the trash but for $200 I thought I would give it a try. So far it has been easier to learn guitar on than any other method I have tried in the past. I would expect better fit for $200 but so far that is my only complaint. That is why only 4 stars rating I almost went 3 stars but decided to give them a break. Show more

I have the guitar version of the fret zealot and found that it was a very fun and neat way to learn how to play. Not only do the lights sync up with the example songs but they also sync with the teaching videos as well. The combo made it much more effective to learn to play than simply listening to the instructions. Would recommend to anyone who wants to start playing the guitar. Show more
