    Good memories
I actually grew up playing Valkyrie Profile alongside with Final Fantasy 7 for my Playstation but my memory of this game is not with me but I remember enjoying this game very much especially with 2 soundtracks in this game which were awesome to listen to I’m glad I got the chance to play this wonderful game again thank you for the memories Square Enix. Great port: unplayable due to controls
This is and has been one of my favorite jrpgs of all time. I played it originally on the ps1 and then years later on the psp. This game is truly a gem with nothing else like it. So why one stars? The on screen dpad/analog/does-whatever-it-wants directional pad to move turns a fun nostalgic experience into a frustrating one as soon as the first dungeon. I know this was an Enix game originally but did no one tell SE that this game is 60% platformer? This game was released on ps1 and then psp both of which did not need analog control so why in the name of yevon is there a fake analog dpad our only option to move around? To me that just shows that this port wasn’t fully play tested. The last palace in the game is nearly unplayable. Please for the love of god add a D pad setting with adjustable sizes. You’d think for a (17.99) premium priced game with MACRO-TRANSACTIONS (which basically amount to paying for cheat codes lol) that this developer would be able to add such a small feature. Please. The game is not unplayable but you’ll essentially be fighting the controls in every single dungeon and town, falling off ledges into spikes, and having to constantly restart platforming sections. If you have the resources save yourself the trouble and play this one on the psp you’ll be a lot happier. (If SE fixes this small control issue I will delete and re write this review- Robbie Dagger out) Show more

A Must Play for RPG fans
This game quickly quickly quickly became one of my favorites of all time. Wow this game is fun, and is very unique in its concept. I am an enormous JRPG player, and I would’ve never discovered this game if not for this iOS port. Now I am so hungry to play the second one, which I am praying will also gain its iOS port. This is one of the JRPG must-haves, much like Chrono Trigger and all things Final Fantasy. The only thing to watch out for is the difficult trick. The real ending to the game can only be obtained on hard difficulty, but don’t be intimidated, like I was, because it’s not actually any harder. I had to beat it on normal and then hard and I wasn’t even mad. I love this game. Thank you Apple for this port, and as always, thank you Square Enix for another classic RPG. Show more

    Good game, terrible controls
Game would be awesome if the controls were not so bad. Certain levels are impossible using touch controls.

    Needs a little fine tuning
First off let me start off saying that it’s a great port I love the game. Such a great classic. The only few bad things about that game is that it REALLY needs a D-pad. When playing side scrolling games you kinda need the pad, not the pad the pops up whenever you move the character and god forbid you’re trying to navigate through a dungeon and you keep going back and forth and back and forth. Also there are some items that you miss because you can’t navigate the jumps and the ice blocks because you can barely control the character, secondly there’s a bug in the game whenever you go to the overworld and go into a dungeon all of Lenneths skills becomes unequipped which is really annoying. Add the D-pad and fix the bug and you’ll get 5 stars outta me Show more

    My weapons automatically unequips
Game is great but the controls is beyond frustrating. You’ll spend at least 10 min just to climb a latter. Not to mention your equipment disappears out of no where

Not optimized for new iPhone screens
Don't charge a premium rate if you're not going to put in premium work and update the game for the iPhone xs and xs max. I want my money back

    Controls bad
Deleted after 30 minutes of not able to play using iPhone 7 Plus. The controls ruined it for me.

    Greatest RPG of all time.
Valkyrie Profile was a legendary game on the original PS1. Even more legendary with a port to the PSP. VP became a collectors item and usually with a hefty price tag. Now, forever in the history books and available to the masses as one of the greatest RPGs of all time. I’m so happy to see that Square Enix is giving a piece of my childhood back. Valkyrie profile will forever have a place in my heart. ❤️ Show more

    Cheaply made
This is not a quality Square Enix game. From graphics to sound everything seems cheaply made. So disappointed.

    Love it
Played the mess out of it on PSX, requesting the devs look into controller support for GameVice. The game would be a lot smoother especially on some of the later levels such as the clockwork castle. Other than that great game Show more

    Great Port for mobile fun
The release of this game Is welcomed since it almost seems as if it was made for mobile use. Played it originally on the PSP and have missed it, until now! Show more

    Graphics are terrible
Does not look like the trailer! Graphics look like they are from the mid 90s. Game control is really lacking. It’s a terrible disappointment. Not worth $18 imo.

    Fantastic! ?
Just like I remembered and more! They did almost a prefect port here- there are a few stages that hit you hard with mega lag- and the virtual joy pad is brutal on some occasions that call for precise executions- other then that the add on’s are sweet for an extra boost in gameplay Show more

    Game broken due to controls.
So far I’ve been loving this game; it has a nice story, plenty of gameplay, and plenty of items to collect. The main downside is the controls make some areas either impossible or at least frustrating. The d-pad needs a setting that locks it in place so you don’t move your character randomly because your thumb lifted for a brief moment. Also the last area with the fires of purgatory is pretty much impossible without controller support since as soon as you finish a battle it takes about 1-3 seconds before it lets you move making you run out of time no matter what you do. If they fixed that, then it would be a 5 star game. Not counting on it. Show more

At long last....if you can tolerate the constant crashing
Fantastic port of one of my favorite vintage rpgs. However the repeated crashing nearly every dungeon is ridiculous. The original title only allowed for saving at save spots, thankfully you can save whenever but the game crashes so frequently on a game that’s pretty unforgiving on jumps and certain bosses, and confusing maps like lezards tower, having it crash multiple times after a 15 min delay to finally fight Loki and twice before when I was finally beating bloodbane is beyond frustrating. And please add an update where you can skip things like the storyline and movies leading up to fight Loki. Don’t want to spend an hour of my life rewatching this just for the game to crash again. Square could have done a much better job of debugging this one, hopefully in an update. Show more

Awesome port of an awesome game
Squeenix keeps surprising me with their mobile releases. First Romancing Saga 2 and now this? I’m extremely excited for whatever’s coming next! Anyway this is an amazing port that runs flawlessly, I haven’t encountered a single problem yet and I’ve logged 20+ hours. Controls are silky smooth and the fact that you can save anywhere really makes the difference on mobile. All in all a must-have if you’re even remotely interested (which you probably are since you read this review) Show more

    Epic
This game has always been an iconic masterpiece for me, I will never forget having to restart due to bad choices. I wish they remastered it with modern graphics.
