    App Freezes up on iPhone
I have had the app now for about a month with my Katana Air amplifier. The app freezes up almost every other day and has to be deleted and reinstalled. I hope the software people that developed this app are improving this. Especially since the Boss amplifiers are so tied to the app. Show more

    Awesome amp, app needs redesign
Being able to control my amp from my phone and never get up to fiddle with knobs is amazing and revolutionary. However the app itself is not intuitive and feels quite limiting. I can only seem to use certain combinations of effects which is frustrating given the library of amazing effects available. Clicking through the menus is confusing and it’s easy to forget what I have assigned to each “color” on each switch. I can only use three effects at once, one from BST/MOD, one from DELAY/FX and one from REVERB. Any other combination seems impossible. Maybe being able to have all 50 effects on at once would be too much but I don’t understand why it’s so limited in this way. The Katana Air is a great amp and I love picking my guitar up and having the amp wake up and be ready to go, it’s great. But I hope BOSS can rethink this app and make it more intuitive and powerful. Not super great - never updated
The app does work, but they haven’t updated past version 1.0. There are a few tone patches to choose from, but the library is very limited. Would be great to se e more updates. That would improve my opinion of it. Show more

    Needs landscape mode!
You can give us an update for wireless expression pedal and foot controls but STILL no landscape mode??? BOSS…PLEASE…iPads NEED landscape mode! This app is STILL USELESS on my iPad, because like MOST ipad users, it’s mounted in a case with a keyboard. THIS IS SUCH A BASIC FEATURE - I do NOT understand why it’s not yet implemented???!!! Lagging in 2020 :(
Gotta say this amp is a beast in many ways. I get killer sounds in the studio micing the amp or running stereo out into an interface. Awesome desktop/studio amp. Useful for a little extra boost at campfire jam sessions. I even use it as an acoustic preamp for worship with my Gibson arch top L30. BUT... the app stopped working with apple IOS 14.... Ummm.... for 400 bucks I kinda need this app to work. Wonder if there is a reason they haven’t updated the app in a year. I like to use products like regular old products and keep them as long as they still work properly. I haven’t even had it a year and half it’s functionality is already stripped away. Anyone else having this issue or is it just me? It’s states that it’s only supporting IOS 13 as of 11-3-20. Let’s hope they upstate the beast of an amp and take it to a whole new and improved level. Lastly, I dislike having to charge and swap batteries. I’m glad I have the wireless option but I would welcome an internal battery option. For the most part I will say that it sounds fantastic. If it were only $200 bucks d give its 3 or 4 stars but seeing as how it cost $400 ima have to give it 2 stars until they update the app. Show more

    Please add voice over support
I am a blind musician and the amp itself is really sick and I think is totally worth the price. However it is nearly impossible for me to use the app to do really anything. The app is pretty devoid of support for apples screen reader in accessability voice over. I would love to be able to use the thing to expand my sound and have finer control over the amp, but i'm left with just the analog controls until something like that is implimented into the app. Show more

Please make this compatible with regular Katana
I love Roland, but I can’t believe that the only editors available for my supposedly “professional” model katana 100w 2x12 are on pc or Mac, and the “practice” or solo jam units (aside from the gt-1000, being a pro but aptly named unit that will set you back $1,000) get access to an iOS app. I understand that none of the other katana amps have Bluetooth built in, but anyone worth a spit using iOS knows how to use a usb cable and camera connection kit by now. The only thing holding the katana back from being my main professional gigging amp is this lack of iOS librarian support. Show more

    App keeps crashing on iPhone
Not happy with App. It keeps crashing. I’m using a modern iPhone. Why the problems?

    Bruhh
Doubt y’all will read this, but it’s be nice to have a power off function in the app. It’s a little redundant to have to get up & walk over to it when I can turn basically everything else on & off with my phone. Show more

Great Wireless Amp - App needs landscape support for iPad
Make the app work in landscape mode for iPad.

Great amp but very poor app
The app is very poorly written, no screen reader support. The customer care, while courteous, basically says that all decisions are made in Japan. Of course, writing to Japan is like contacting someone on Mars. I really tried... I hope that in some near future, there will be an update that everone is asking about... But really, I'd expect Roland and Boss treat their customers better, with frequent app updates, etc. Show more

The amp is great the app isn’t
This is specifically about the app. When I got the Katana Air I was excited about the sound of the amp. Then I opened the app and thought it looked like it was put together ten years ago. There is a lot in the app but it doesn’t automatically rotate when opened on an iPad making it clumsy to use. What developer would have released something this poor, non-auto rotating app disappeared a decade ago. I naturally though this was a beta version of the app, but that was a year ago. Time to release a new version that: Auto connects to the amp when it is launched and the amp is on and in range; auto rotates with your device so that you can easily navigate the complicated options on one screen; looks like an app created for the second decade of the 21st century; has an auto convert feature that reads all Katana pre-sets, not just ones created for the smaller user base of air users; and finally, the app is rated generously rated at 2.7, your customers are sending a clear message. Is anybody listening? Show more

    SUPPORT FOR USB?
I think this app covers the basics and not much more. For the most part it works. It could use some integration with other apps but it is really just for editing and not really for recording. That is a whole different task. What I don't understand is why this does not add usb support for the rest of the katana line since ipads are capable of handling that protocol better now. It would be so much easier to use my ipad pro instead of getting out the macbook to edit the Katana 100/212. Better yet, why don’t they have bluetooth on all the katana amps to use the app. You would think that would be a no brainer. I am a bit upset I had just ordered the new katana 100/212 MKII and it doesn’t have bluetooth. I mean really, come on. This is something that should have been added even in the first series. They are great amps but this would have given them the elite advantage. Show more

    Disappointing and misses the mark
Really only an katana amp panel remote. PC / MacOS Tone Studio has full features but unfortunately you can only use the app with Katana Air. Huge miss. I took mine back for a 50. Show more
