    Flamenco Explained is Amazing!
If you want to learn Flamenco and are not sure where to start this is definitely the app to use. From beginner to advanced there is something here for everyone. What I truly love about Flamenco Explained is that the lessons are well thought out, thorough, and Kai Narezo is a great teacher. There are some great free lessons here but the subscription is absolutely worth it! Love this app! Show more

    The best online flamenco instructor!
After years of searching for a legit flamenco guitar teacher, and not being able to find one, I gave up. Sold my guitar, and figured I’ll never be able to learn this beautiful art unless I moved to Spain or learned Spanish so that I could hire Spanish speaking instructors, or go online and try to understand some of the online instructions that were available, but in Spanish. Then came the day when I came across Kai’s flamenco explained sample courses on YouTube. It sparked the flame of my desire to learn flamenco guitar again. After 2 months of watching his courses on YouTube, he gained my full trust. Purchased a flamenco guitar, and signed up for a year of membership last June. Started with his beginner level courses, got my hands strong and conditioned again, putting in minimum of 3 hours a day. I’ve completed the Silea’ course, and almost done with Tangos. I’m going to renew my yearly membership again this June. I continue learning this form till the day I die. Take it from me, there is no other instructor out there that teaches every lesson completely, comprehensively and patiently as Kai. Thank you Maestro!!! I hope that you keep sharing your knowledge for many years to come, and to spread this beautiful art with the world we live in. Your dedicated student, Arthur Abrahamian Show more

Best online course I’ve taken. Period.
Updating a previous review where I left 4 stars due to the UI in the app- after a month of using this daily, the amazing quality of the content makes the small quirks more than worth it. I’ve taken quite a few online courses- for work, school, and hobbies- I’ve even helped build and design courses for top tier universities- and I can definitively Kai’s Ultimate Flamenco course is the single best online course I’ve ever encountered. His videos are well thought out and make learning flamenco incredibly approachable, enjoyable, and have done wonders to correct flaws in my technique that I wasn’t aware of. At the end of the first full course, I felt comfortable playing basic soleras, and more importantly felt like I understood the basics behind the music and have a clear understanding of how to progress. This is significantly underpriced- I’d easily expect to pay 2-3x this amount for the sort of impact it’s had on my guitar. Update 2- 5 months in and still in love with the app and the content. Great source!
I returned from Jerez wanting to learn this, but couldn’t find anyone around me that knows. This is a great source of instruction and basic techniques to get you into the door, I love the clear instructions of his videos and the fact you can repeatedly watch it until it makes sense. Also private lessons are available with details and personalized instructions. I am really grateful for being introduced to this through the grapevine of His other student in Jerez. Show more

    Great content
I’ve been poking around Flamenco tutorials for a few years now and this is one of the most comprehensive and high quality resources out there currently.

    Best instruction for flamenco guitar
Flamenco explained is the best value per dollar for learning flamenco that exists. I highly recommend it.

    Kai = Best Online Teacher
I’ve played Classical for a few years and Flamenco 6 months. I’ve watched a lot of fire players poorly explain their techniques. Kai is different. Not only is he a terrific player, he takes the time to properly explain the techniques/counts/feel you need to play flamenco. If you’re lucky enough to find a decent flamenco instructor and take personal lessons, do that and use this as a supplement. But if you can’t find someone, these lessons are the next best thing Show more

    Best Flamenco Guide
Great structured material to have you on your way to playing flamenco guitar. Lots of content and Professor Kai is just amazing at breaking everything down. You won’t regret it.

    Olé!
Well, I’ve had some time to spare as of late and have always loved flamenco. Guess what?! In about a month I’ve learned more about flamenco, and how to play it, than I ever thought possible. And I’m at the tip of the paella here. This material, method, and app have made this fun and very understandable. Super understandable. I’m geeked up for what lies ahead and honestly never thought I would have this much fun. This app is awesome. This teacher is better. And for what it’s worth- I’ve always considered myself musically challenged. Sign up, pour a tinto de verano, and have some fun with us! Olé! Show more

    Invaluable resource
Kai and the FE team’s videos and lessons are phenomenally clear, helpful, fun and interesting. This companion app to the FE video suite is easy to use, well designed, and a huge value add, especially to supplement FE’s Survival Guide book. I’d highly recommend to anyone else out there trying to teach themselves flamenco. Show more

    Great App, Great Content
I’ve just started to get into the videos, and so far, I think that the content is great. Kai seems very knowledgeable, and he does a good job of explaining things so you can understand them. I’m very impressed with the quality of the app. The app is polished, and professionally done. It almost feels like I’m using an app designed for a big company like YouTube. The only things I think it could benefit from, are maybe a little more structure in how the videos are presented. In the “explore” section, it feels like the videos are listed in a more or less random order. A more progressive approach to listing the videos might be nice. Also, a tab/standard music notation to follow along with the videos would be great too. Lastly, I’m tempted to buy Kai’s book, “Flamenco Explained” but I couldn’t really find any samples, or any detailed explanation of what is actually in the book. Overall, I think the app and the teacher/teaching is a great experience. The 7 day trial is generous, and gives you plenty of time to get a feel for everything. And If you’re serious about learning Flamenco, I think the subscription is affordable, and well worth the money. Show more

    First Class Flamenco Pedagogy
Flamenco Explained is a fabulous resource for anyone who wants to learn about how to play flamenco guitar, but it’s much more than that. Kai Narezo has gone to great lengths to provide depth and insight into the structures of flamenco compás, the evolution of various flamenco forms, and the culture of flamenco in general. In addition, Kai is extremely warm and responsive to questions and will try to address technical issues very specifically (sometimes with a video response, when possible). Tara Stewart has built an intuitive, comprehensive, and professional platform that provides a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Flamenco Explained is the closest that web learning can come to in person lessons and is very moderately priced. A joy. Show more

    Fantastic instruction!!!
Can’t speak highly enough about Kai’s teaching. The name of the app says it all!

    Great Format
Well done! Just wished they had this technology and outstanding presentation format back in the 60’s when I got started, I would be light years ahead in my playing as opposed to being stuck in the 60’s. Show more

    Demystifies Flamenco
I do wish you’d tackle more about the interaction between the musicians and the dancer by palo. As a dancer, the instruction is great, and I’m definitely learning, but It can only take me so far. I’m searching everywhere for more about the back-and-forth communication that’s essential to the language of Flamenco. Need your help, Kai! Show more
