HEOS is a great alternative to SONOS, and this app really puts the cherry on top. Managing the HEOS setup on a computer rather than iOS is fantastic. I mainly use HEOS for streaming multi-room music. I Have around 10 zones in my house and being able to easily group/ungroup, adjust volume, and pick sources/songs is fantastic. Worth the money in my book. Also appears to be a "reboot speaker" option... which could prove to be extremly helpful when the system is acting up every now and then. Thanks for putting this app together! Show more

If you want to play a file from your mac, you can't scrub within the file, which is super annoying if you are listening to a podcast or something longer than a song. Show more

Not what I was looking for, it does not see b or c speakers.

Just downloaded, logged into my HEOS account and started playing music. Works great; glad I don't have to go grab my phone!

Stream music from local iTunes library playback track only played one song than it stop, also cound't find the buttom that it say " PLAY ALL" When I'm using local music, it won't play the whole playlitst. What do I need to do to make this option works, I'm using MacBook Pro and Marantz PM7000N . Manny thanks. Show more

Hate to give this two stars, because I really like the interface, but for 7 bucks, I would have expected this to support Amazon Music. Denon has been really promoting Amazon since they came out with Ultra HD. It is listed side-by-side with Spotify on all their promotional materials. But this app does not even support search on Amazon Music (the Denon Heos iOS app does), so you are basically limited to playlists and stations. Show more

Apps have personalities. This Remote for Heos app projects a desire to help and a commitment to simplicity, logic, and usability. (The software from actual Heos/Denon, I find, projects slapdash illogicality and hostility.) So thanks to the developer. It would be great to have a playlist constructor that works the way every other music app in the universe works, to substitute for the way the actual Heos app works, which must have been very cheap to write but is laughable. But keeping the Remote for Heos app working correctly is a higher priority. It wouldn't be possible to sneak a few more radio station streaming services in, would it? Or have a direct link to Qobuz? BTW, as far as I can see this app has all the features the Heos app has, without exception, plus it's possible for the human mind to comprehend the interface, unlike Denon's Heos software. The Heos hardware costs hundreds of dollars, so I don't mind paying a few bucks for this app. Show more

FINALLY after several reboots it runs.

Definitely not a $7 app, but a good start. Things I would like to see in future releases: 1. Ability to play the music on the actual device I'm streaming from, as well as the HEOS speakers I'm sending the signal to. 2. Ability to view/adjust audio quality for apps like Deezer (which DO expose this through thier API). Without either of these features, I will likely stick to using the HEOS Mobile app, which has a lot more functionality. Show more

Connecting to home server, can’t queue up an album. Will only do one song at a time. There’s no queue mangement. Clicking on Setting crashes 8/10 times. Also, can’t play over local speakers on the computer in addition to the HEOS network. Show more

Yes it works, but this is just as basic as you could get. This should be a $1 for what it provides instead of $7. Here is just a few things you wont be getting.. - can't change source - can't change sound mode (if you have a denon reciever) - can't star tracks - can't turn on different zones - UI is pretty bad, if you have a single player you have this big blank space under the player. This is a good app. I am not sure why but it seems that the app stays active all the time and hence lan up/down activities = 315KB/780kB about every 1 minute interval. Is this really necessary coz if the room or the device is not active then it should not be ping that often. A song is typically ~3 minutes long. Furthermore, since HEOS will enter sleep mode if there is no LAN activity so pinging it will not let it go into the sleep mode, NO? If you can please give this app a active/sleep switch mode so it can stay on the bar and does nothing in sleep mode. I am not listening to music while i am sleeping so it should not be pinging thing if nothing is playing…LOL. If you can give the app a bit of AI by remembering the group/device that is active and then goes into idle mode if no group/device is active would be the best solution. Or the quick way is to give the app The active/sleep mode. The active mode is what it is now and the sleep mode is just sitting on the bar and doing nothing. Quit the app to stop the LAN activity is just too yester-year…NO? Oh, I am using wd mycloud to put my music on a local lan. The app still can only see 100 songs. I know this because due to HEOS playlist limitation, I have folders containing 300 songs each folder and the folder name is the playlist. Cheers Show more

I am so glad this happened. You are my hero. Only thing I would suggest is that for me I have 11 Zones/Speakers in my house... so I have this whole "scroll for days" issue when adjusting my speakers. I would like to see an interface that supported this better, but as for functionality THANK YOU SO MUCH. (Side Note: if there was a way to loop the audio playback to my computer speakers that would be cool too. Probably a DRM issue, but Just a thought) Show more

I have a Denon AVR with multiple zones, and when I select the name of the device from the app, only the main zone is accessed. Not especially useful if im trying to run speakers in my office (zone 2) while having tv on in the main rom. Show more

Glad someone made this for the Mac so I can control and play music on my Denon receiver and HEOS speakers. Works great, looks like the HEOS app on the iPhone and Android devices and it knows about the grouping of the devices and just worked. Just had to install it and it worked from the start. One thing so far I see is in Settings it shows a Disk icon but when I clicked it, it brought up a dialog that had Exit Application as my only option. What does this even do? It is confusing and should have a Cancel button and complete information on what this function does. Show more

Very good remote, using it to control a few heos 5 speakers and a denon heos receiver. Just a little request for the dev, is there any way you could adapt this app for ios? since it seems to work MUCH better, it’s much more responsive than the “official” ios app :) Show more
