it just take too long too mute and all VCA are all seperate makes it too dificult to control

Love working with the app and all the flexability, but it is very annoying when a new version is released and someone in the band's iphone updates. We have 3 ipads and 8 iphones that we use to control the mixer. If an auto update accidently happens we need to update the firmware and all 11 devices. Very time consuming. If the last verson or two was avaiable we could just roll back that one device. Other app builders have compatibility versions that can be used for this reason. I've tried to move the older version from one device to another, but with out any luck. Please concider posting the last few for this reason, until we decide to make a mass upgrade. Show more

A firmware update was forced with the latest version in order for me to use my DL32 at rehearsal today. Not only did it cause a significant delay in our start time, but the app now crashes on disk access, rendering the most important feature of the DL32 useless. Please stop releasing apps that require firmware update (make them backward compatible). Show more

We use a DL32R for our church services. We typically have a band of 5-7 people, all of whom use the Master Fader app to control to control their in-ear mixes, and our FOH engineer of course uses the app to control the house mix. We love having a low profile, rack-mounted console, and love the ability to control it wirelessly and have all our musicians control their own mixes. It produces a sound that is definitely worth more than what we paid for it. However, we have run across several instances where our iOS devices have automatically updated the Master Fader app, because most iOS users have the auto-update feature enabled because of it's convenience. However, as you know, when the Master Fader app comes out with an update, it forces a firmware update on the DL32R in order to use it. We usually come to find out this update has occurred when time comes to do sound check on Sunday morning, a couple hours before service is supposed to start, and no one can use the app unless we update the firmware. I hope that you can understand how HUGE of an inconvenience this is. I am not a developer, and don't know everything that goes into cross compatibility of firmware and apps. However, I do know that Yamaha console firmware upgrades and their iOS apps are completely exclusive of each other. And when I would upgrade my iPad app, it never forced me to upgrade the firmware on the sound console in order to control it. If new features were available with a firmware, I just didn't get to use them, but I could still control the console. So it is definitely possible to upgrade an app without preventing users from controlling the console. This is a serious problem for us and, I'm sure, many other. Please, please fix this. Show more

There are away to EQ from the iPhone app?

If you have any reverb in your settings that you like, DO NOT UPDATE. I normally LOVE Mackie and Master Fader with my DL32R. I updated, didn't change a thing, and suddenly my reverb sounded COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. I called Loud Tech (Mackie) support and told them this - they seemed excited that it sounded completely different. I had to explain that completely different is bad - I expect that it should sound basically the same if I didn't change any settings. The new settings sounded "tinny" and lasted about 5 seconds longer than they had before. Their only suggestion was to play around with the new settings and try to get it back to where I liked it before. I have had to go from Cathedral to Large Room to get even remotely close to where I was. It still sounds horrible. There are also a number of bugs. I've never had a bug issue before with Mackie, but now when I recall a snapshot, about half the time the board disconnects from the app. Switching from show to show also causes it to load indefinitely for me. I'm trying to get a way to downgrade back to before this update. I would suggest not upgrading - the new update has really changed my attitude about Mackie from extremely positive to extremely negative. Show more

This app is unreliable. It froze up right in the middle of a show and the whole program had to be stopped to my embarrassment. No confidence in this brand.

I have zero issues other than figuring out how to play music off my iPad through the mixer. Have not had any connection issues like other people have said they have. Show more

everyones brand new ipad mini's and iphone6's wont stay connected to mixer??

I recently upgraded to Master Fader 4, and let me say that it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. While Master Fader 3 had connectivity issues, once it was connected, it stayed connected. Master Fader 4 will randomly drop the connection for no apparent reason. (i.e., while mixing from a stationary FOH position.) not a major problem, more of an annoyance. The biggest issue is the way the faders respond (or don’t respond) on the interface. Sometimes it will take three or four trys before it “glows” and responds. Other times it will start, and then for whatever reason, just stop. This is not a good situation when you are mixing a show and feedback decides to rear it’s nasty head. it is for this reason alone, I don’t recommend updating to Master Fader 4. It’s just not ready for prime time. While I truly love the added features in this version, if I can’t fluently mix a show with it, then it’s totally worthless to me. Show more

I've encountered a few bugs that I didn't experience in v3: - The connection has dropped and re-established during a show. Although disconcerting, it didn't adversely affect anything but just gave me a moment of consternation - The channel number doesn't change when scrolling or swiping through the effects or AUX send menus. You have to go back to the fader screen tap on the channel you want to change and then go to into the effects screen to make changes. - Also in the AUX page, tapping on the dB value to bring up the number key pad doesn't save the value entered when closing the key pad. Your only option is to use the slider bar to change the value. Although some times I've revisited the AUX screen and the changes didn't stick. It's not obvious to me how to play the new tone function into the mix. Maybe I'll actually read the manual about that feature. Over-all the whole Mackie DL series and Master Fader app is a really great mixer system that for a multi-decade analogue board mixer like me has been super to use. I like it and trust that the Mackie guys are working on stomping out the bugs in v4 and they'll push an update out soon to make a bunch of happy customers and maintain their stellar reputation for the good stuff. I used the new app on a new iPad and found a bunch of bugs. The app suddenly stopped allowing me to swipe up or down left or right while in the single channel EQ effects mode. The delay and reverb effects would not work. I was not able to save the show or access any saved show - the button did not respond. I restarted the app which brought back some functionality which quickly locked up again. I restarted the iPad which again brought back some functionality and froze the app. I do like the new real time analyzer and a lot of the other new features. I still highly recommend the Mackie DL 1608 and the Master Fader software. A new version is needed I don't feel confident mixing another show with this version of the software. Show more

Stoked at the support on the DL32R. Would love there to be some workflow for grouping channels for monitor mixes ( similar to subgroups but in a way that would be individually controllable for each monitor mix ). Thanks! Show more

Fader stops scrolling before I let go of it. Super annoying for something that should be really basic. Otherwise pretty similar to version 3...I do like the RTA on the mains, wish that was on every channel Show more

I've been using the dl1608 for a year. I am a sound engineer for live bands. I love the portability and flexibility of the DL mixer. Master fader 4 I find to have glitches. While sliding faders they will stop then you have to release finger and slide again. Also it will switch views going from the main L and R view into a sub group view randomly. I do like the RTA. And the new recording features. I still wish Mackie would put more time into how the effects are controlled and sound. Being able to control reverbs and delays sends and returns for different channels on ONE screen would be great. Instead of having to scroll through different screens for different channels. Looking forward to the next update. I've never had a drop out issue regarding wifi using Apple airport express. Show more

Hopefully they will fix the connectivity issues with the software. Had to restart the app a couple dozen times throughout a show because it lost connection.
