    My favorite app
This is a wonderful app and it has been extremely useful to me in learning to play the violin. The musical soundtracks are of the highest quality and they are just as good if not better than the performances that are available by well known orchestras on CD. I am inclined to think that they are better. The ability to slow down pieces and loop parts of the score is very helpful. I also like having the ability to annotate the score with my own fingerings, etc. and then being able to print out the annotated score. Since I also play the mandolin, I often work out a piece first on the mandolin and then go work on it with the violin. Since the violin and the mandolin use the same tuning of strings, this means that of you can read violin music, you can also read mandolin music. Tomplay might want to think about adding mandolin to their list of instruments. With their violin scores and backing tracks they would only have to remove the violin track and replace it with someone playing the very same score on the mandolin. With the mandolin though you would have to learn how to do the tremelo or double picking effect on the mandolin. Tomplay also lets you provide suggestions for new songs that they can add to their inventory. I recently suggested a song and they produced an excellent score and orchestra background track for it. I can now play along with one of my favorite songs which is “Over The Rainbow”. Thanks to the people of Tomplay for producing what is in my opinion the best musical score, learning and play along app available anywhere. Luman Ferrell Show more

Awesome App to Keep me having fun while learning
I been using TomPlay for over 6 months and it has taking my boring practice sessions to the next level - TomPlay saved the day. I struggle with timing so I cannot play with back tracks but with TomPlay’s visual cursor it has allowed me to and now my practice sessions are so much more fun! Not to mention the looping and tempo control and many more features! Show more

Such a wonderful way to make music
Since moving from New York to a remote part of the country I had to leave the community orchestra I used to play with. Finding other musicians during Covid was impossible, especially as a wind player. Using Tomplay has been a wonderful way for me to explore the core clarinet repertoire. I love that you can slow down the score and speed it up - it allows me to master the fingerings. Now having spent much time with Tomplay, I have much of the core clarinet repertoire under my fingers. I have found a pianist and now I can bring to the table an advanced set of skills. When we get together I am much further on in my understanding and ability to play the music. Tomplay allows me to do all that embarrassing ground work in isolation before I come to the first rehearsal. I am confident that if there any mistakes are made at the first rehearsal it is not me. Also it’s a great way, after playing the music at the rehearsal, to come back and further refine things that I’ve learned. Because of my annual subscription, Tomplay offers a free transcription service. If there is a piece of music that isn’t available for clarinet but that’s available on another instrument I can request them to create a clarinet version. I could even specify whether I’d like it for A clarinet or B-flat clarinet. It’s a wonderful tool. I love it. I’m so happy that I bought it. Show more

One of the Greatest Apps Ever!
Out of all the many apps that I have ever used, the Tomplay Sheet Music app is one of the best, and probably the most fun, I have ever used. I used it primarily for my soprano sax, alto sax and Roland Aerophone AE-30, but it would be great for many other instruments also. The ability to have a band back you on songs is not only fun, but also helps you improve. You can turn on (or off) what you want to hear in the background, including voice, and the main instrument. There are several different variations of each song ranging from beginner to advanced levels. This app is well worth the money and I highly recommend it! Show more

    It’s Great, But…
This app is an amazing tool, and has helped me a lot as a violin student. The only reason I don’t give it a 5-star review is because I use the recording feature a lot, but it’s weird that it records the video in “mirror” mode and it looks really weird and trippy to see the violin on the opposite side. Maybe if you include a setting so that the final recording is not mirrored, then I’d be more than happy to come back and give it 5 stars. This has also messed up with my OCD ? Show more

    Do not trust this company
Application didn’t work for me. With no notice they hit your credit card for another year of service. Again, no notices whatsoever. No one remembers what the long EULA said 12 months ago and they know it. My guess from other reviewers here is they make a lot of money this way. I have been in contact with them and they reiterate NO REFUNDS and they won’t budge. So, I’m out close to $200 dollars now for something that doesn’t work. They did offer a some sort of credit that I could give to someone else, but why would I want to do this given the draconian policies of this company? Haven’t been this scammed by a company in a long time. Live and learn I guess. And alert others so that they don’t fall for the same trap I did. Show more

    Review on trumpet music
Tomplay is the best tool I have ever used in my 44 years of playing a trumpet. The ability to record with and without the trumpet in the background is amazing. The loop component allows me to work on a certain bar or portion of the music that I need to practice to perfection coupled with the visual on certain pieces are simply amazing. I am happier than a kid in a cookie jar with this app and it’s without peer when it comes to all of the perks it has to master each piece of music. I am grateful to all involved with putting this App together. J.Lee Show more

    Doesn’t work well
This app does not work well on iPhone. I looked for country music guitar and literally could not get it to pull up anything.

No more cds, mp3, bulky sheet music or boom box. This is a great program! The Bluetooth accompaniments are nicely arranged. Play with orchestra, piano, guitar, ensemble. So many genres of music. So convenient. Load the app on your iPad, sync. your Bluetooth speaker and play. Thank you Tomplay! Show more
