    Love it
We really love this app. So glad we found it when we did.

    Decent App, Overpriced
The app is decent. It often freezes when trying to download the next months playlist. Also, a lot of songs are ones you could find on Amazon Music or Spotify.

    Great Concept!
Great concept! Starting to use with my 6 month old and she loves the music. After reading reviews on their website and doing my own research, I could definitely see the benefits. I’m glad there is a education system like this. The songs are very unique and stuff you can’t find out there. The UI could use a little work, but the delivery of the music is without any issues. So far so good! Show more

Love it - fix downloading too slow
Ok I love the app. It would be nice to have a little blurb about what each song is good for with regards to the brain. I really need you guys to fix the time it takes for downloading all songs in the month each time I turn it on in the morning. It takes so long my phone times out and my toddler looses interest. I even lose interest.loo FYI for those complaining about the few songs that sound “creepy” or like the beginning to a horror scene....you are right but babies could never think that since they have never experienced correlating somber tones with sad movies. How cool is it that they have zero bias?!.... and can absorb the high information from those songs! It’s for them, NOT for you. I would not skip any song. My question about the songs is WHY does it start over when i pause the song, and try to continue it later?! We never get to every song because of this. Please fix! Show more

    Constantly downloading
When you open the app, it downloads for 10’..... and while it’s downloading, you cannot use the app. I wonder if the developer ever heard of background task before...

This app is terrible. One of the glitchiest apps ever
Worked like a charm for a few months . So let me get this right. I can’t log on more than one device when I pay 10 dollars a month for a glorified playlist of music? I log out and can’t even log back in at all. Tried restarting , reinstalling , resetting devices , everything. Nothing. I come from an IT space and whoever coded this thing is an amateur. You can’t even unsubscribe LIKE EVERY OTHER APP through the Apple subscriptions , there’s no help or hotline to get through direct: i can’t even access help through the app because it keeps freezing on “downloading...”. This app is a mess! I was a loyal customer and now I just want my money back for the last 2 months this thing hasn’t been working. On ANY device. My iphone , fiancees iphone , 2 different ipads and more. Whoever coded this thing needs to go back to square one before someone comes along with a suite. And when you guys do respond . Please look into my account. Show more

    Kid HATES this
Been trying to use this for the past 3 months ever since he was born, within seconds of the music playing he loses it, freaks out, I turn it off and he’s fine. I’ve played straight classical music off my home speakers and he’s fine. I don’t know what it is about the music on this app but my baby absolutely can’t stand it. Show more

Love the idea. Music is not for me.
There’s a lot I can muscle through because I know it’s good for me. Like ... kale. But, I’ve never been a jazz lover and a lot of the music is VERY jazz based. And it’s totally personal preference ... but some of it honestly made me want to crawl out of my skin. As a new parent, where your nerves are already raw ... I just can’t do it. I do, however, want to thank the developers for teaching me more about the importance of exposing my child to more complex music on a regular basis. I’d long heard of the “Mozart effect” and this experience inspired me to turn more to classical music playlists and abandon as much as possible the clunky, tinkering, mechanical tunes of children’s toys. My critiques of the app would be: 1) to provide more varied musical selections that might be more tolerable to more people. Yes I know the musical selections are chosen for their tonal range ... but I fail to see how completely unpredictable music falls in line with the theory of “pattern prediction” and “domain transfer” ... the first article on the nuryl website. In fact, all the articles provided are informative and well researched ... but do little to support why it has to be the type of music provided in the nuryl app. 2) priced way too high. Sorry ... it’s a very expensive app for what it is. 3) consider revising/re-recording the tracks that another reviewer pointed out were out of pitch or of poor recording quality. I’m not sure how you can discuss the development of “pitch perfect abilities” of kids where some of the music you are giving them is apparently not pitch perfect. Again ... love the concept and I have appreciation for it. It’s just not worth the investment for me here when I can find more enjoyable (to me) tracks and playlists on YouTube that likely provide the same benefit. Show more

    Does not sync between devices?
Other than some of the other complaints already listed (issues with AirPlay, repetitiveness of songs, certain songs are “creepy”, some songs have artists grunting in the background which is distracting) I have another that is just annoying and renders the app useless to me and my family. I purchased the app and started the subscription, and logged my husband in on his phone. I play music for my son in the AM when my husband is at work, and my husband plays music in the PM for our son while I’m getting home from work. The app DOES NOT sync between phones. I can find high information music on my own. The problem here is the interface to track what you are doing with your child is rendered useless if it does not add together from multiple phones logged in to one account. Both phones are for the same child so it really should be no issue. This is a glaring issue that will probably result in our cancellation. Show more

    Couldn’t use it
Horrible software.. I kept the app for 2 weeks, everytime I open it, it would start “downloading” something that I do not know.. probably the music tracks are too heavy! After waiting for two weeks, kept pressing the play button and it wouldn’t play anything! Show more

    Completely broken with AirPlay
Would love to use this with AirPlay but it is currently broken. Hitting play in the app while using AirPlay just starts playing music from the Apple Music app.

    Not working
Update 09/10/19: The app does not work with my iPad 2. Works on my iPhone 6, but only if I delete it and download it and log in every single time I want to use it. Outrageous! What's going on, on 6.18.19 I can't open the app on either my iPad or iPhone! Blue image pops up and immediately disappears and I'm back to home screen. I've deleted and downloaded the app three times now and still nothing. Show more

A MUST HAVE for any pregnant woman or parent!!
I was lucky enough to discover and start using the Nuryl app when I was four months pregnant with my daughter and I continue to use it everyday! While pregnant and when she was a newborn, using the app allowed us to have one on one bonding/interaction time AND allowed us to discover and develop appreciation for all genres of music. As she she has grown, I can tell when she recognizes certain pieces because she moves with the beat or simply looks at me and smile or claps along! My daughter is nearly three now and she is quite smart. She has excellent language and social skills and is musically inclined. I fully believe the Nuryl app helped ignite her passion for singing and music. I encourage any pregnant woman or parent to use this app! Show more

You have to manually press play to go to next song on playlist
We’ve used this app since I was pregnant and our baby is now 3 months old. We really loved this app at first, but recently it doesn’t automatically play the next song in the playlist. This wasn’t the case when we first started using the app. Show more

    Multi-step process to unsubscribe
The app was not quite as robust as we hoped. We could have saved quite a bit creating playlists of similar music for our son. Nuryl responded to another reviewer saying the songs are meant to stimulate the brain and not teach perfect pitch but that’s exactly what was advertised with demonstrations of the creator and his son who was taught perfect pitch. We would not have purchased if the apps only goal was to play interesting compositions. I have been trying to unsubscribe before next years charge but there is no unsubscribe button in the app. They make you email and try to convince you to stay but neither Nuryl nor Apple seems able to locate our subscription to cancel it and I’m just hoping I’ll notice if I’m charged wrongfully. The app worked without bugs but I wish we’d saved the subscription costs and bought music for our son to listen to instead. Show more

    App has major issues
I have no problems with the concept of Nuryl. What is a problem is that this is a PAID subscription and half the time the app won't even open. A number of reviewers mention bugs. If it were just the app freezing for a few seconds or sometimes playing in the background and sometimes not, I might not be super annoyed. However, I also have an issue where I open the app and get a black screen that goes nowhere or I get the Nuryl logo and goes nowhere. It does this about 50% of the time, and when it does, it will stay on that screen no matter what I do. So, I'm paying for an app that I can't even access. Also, since I can't access it through the website or an app on my computer, this app is the only means of access. While I am here, I have seen other people asking about profiles for multiple kids. The answer was that you need a subscription for each kid. Really?? This is not a cheap subscription; it's close to the cost of Amazon Prime (but you can share an Amazon account). If the app can't handle a second profile, why can't you provide a playlist and song database to subscribers with more than one child? For that matter, why can't you provide the playlist for a single profile of a subscriber? For those looking at the free version, I only got a couple tracks (maybe 6-8), and half of them had a voiceover ad telling you why you should get the paid subscription. All in all, while the concept is fine, some of the policies are ridiculous, and the app is buggy. It is the constant black screen of death in the app that really sinks this for me, though. I will not be renewing. Show more

    Poor Quality Tracks
Would have signed up for this service, but several of the sample tracks have a fuzzy, white noise sound in the background. It really distracts from the music.

Didn’t renew subscription but got charged
Hi, I got charged for one years subscription even tho I never use it anymore and never renew subscription. I tried calling and emailing. But nobody got back to me, I would like to know how to get refund. Show more

Needs to work on Airplay support
The concept is fine, the play lists are a fun eclectic mix (I could simulate with my own library but who has the time... yeh, yeh there's unique content...). Unfortunately I'm glad we only signed up for the month by month because the app does not support Airplay within the app so I can't take advantage of the various stereo systems with Airport expresses we have around the house. When I attempt to use Airplay mirroring with our AppleTv's, the buffering apparently is too small as there's constant drop outs, sometimes for 5 or more seconds. The effect is less with newer equipment (iPhones or iPads) but even with a new phone and latest firmware, the dropouts are unacceptable. As a secondary note the app is for iPhone (there's no display or feature differences that take advantage of the iPad capabilities. Show more
