I used to have a Roli seaboard and that was my first experience with an instrument that I felt revolutionized instrument synthesizers and the expression that we are able to put into our sound. This is so much better in my opinion. The actual quality of the sounds is incredible and probably the biggest reason why I love this. You can literally record an orchestra piece by piece and produce a sound that is convincing and absolutely incredible. The other thing that makes this different is the expression that you’re able to put into your playing by sliding your notes and creating natural vibrato rather than using a wheel or joystick. A great app that integrates well with DAW. Very nice complement to my other synth sounds. It is equal to my Roland and my Nord synth sounds and offers advantages of touch controls. Show more

To make an app, a digital musical instrument that is so easily to perform with live or in the studio takes the work of a genius. I love music in the study for quite a few years on saxophone and keyboards and this Geo shred app is teaches; it opens your musical imagination to new horizons. Two thumbs up!! Show more

I had purchased the geoshred pro app today from the app store. After installing it, I see that a few menu options are missing. I tried reinstalling and restarting the ipad and the app itself. I still dont see the menu options. The Edit -> Performance settings Menu is missing. And maybe other options too. Update: Jan 18 2022: there was a very quick follow up and my issue was resolved. I got GeoShred Pro a day ago, and it all sounded great, but because I was using it in GarageBand, the interfaces didn’t always play well together. But within one day, Pat fixed the problem via a Zoom call. The issue is definitely with GarageBand, not GeoShred, but Pat knew a workaround that solved the GarageBand issue. The team is super supportive and knowledgeable and willing to take time to solve any issue you may have. (Just read other reviews; they ALWAYS respond to any problem a user might have. That alone makes the team better than 90%.) The app itself is as good as any app I’ve used in my 12 years on the iPad. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. This app is really easy and fun to use. Very expressive surface. I like that you can set the notes/keys so that whatever you play will sound in harmony. I give it 3 stars though because it’s so dang expensive. I normally don’t like paying $25 for an app but I figured it would be worth it from the videos I watched. What I did not know was that I would have to keep shelling out $25+ for different instruments that are greyed out in the menu! If you want the whole set it would turn out to be something like $100+, that’s a bit ridiculous. Having this kind of product/price model really turns me off and I lost interest. Show more

We, the professional musicians and hobbyist have, (literally, at our fingertips) expressive, professional grade instruments that offer the range of emotion and personality that rivals and complements the multifaceted range of instruments our cultures have developed over many centuries. GeoShred, and touch control instruments in general, are not ‘instruments of the future’, they are the ‘instruments of now’. Present, alive, and fully articulate. In your hand, as a novice, you can spend hours of enjoyment... as a professional, at your fancy, you have an instrument that is as flexible and nuanced as any other. Plus, and this is important, the customer service is second to none. I’ve had one glitch in all my years as a customer and they got on it immediately and resolved the glitch within 48 hours. They did not stop until they figured it out. This app is unbelievable! Using the a AUV3 plug-in, and the GeoShred keyboard, I just did a full orchestral arrangement using the GeoSwam instruments, and the feedback distortion guitar. Best money spent on the music app ever! Show more
