    Not User Friendly
This app is over priced and is complicated to use. Please improve. -Recording Engineer

    Launchpad + Blocs Wave
Nicely organized. It'll take you a little while to find where everything is (including the manual. Hint: Touch the 2 green bars on the upper left). My comparison: Launchpad has better realtime FX but they cost extra. Blocs Wave lets you move slices around, but doesn't have the Ableton Live-style grid that Launchpad/Hook do. Hook gives you more control over each pad's FX and allow you to control some aspects via MIDI for easy automation if you have a sequencer that sends CCs. Launchpad/blocs wave have cheaper sample packs (48 samples for $2 per pack versus 100 samples for $10 a pack) and they are much better than Retronyms' generic-sounding, played-out sample packs. HOWEVER, Hook lets you sample via Inter App Audio or import your own via AudioCopy, iTunes or Soundcloud, so who needs sample packs?! On the other hand, I love being able to export individual Blocs Wave loops for use in other hardware/software. And it's the fastest of the 3 to get something going and make it original. in conclusion, they all have their plusses, so I'll keep using all 3 as Octatrack fodder, but if I had to choose, I'd create in Blocs Wave and export to Hook (which is free on the iPhone, so check it out and make up your own mind. It's a great time to make music -- too bad it's very hard to make a living doing it!) Show more

    A Winner
I just started using the app, so more to come. I love 2 things so far: 1. it separates the Classes of Loops from an AudioCopy Store album onto separate tracks using audiopaste , forming a two dimensional array of Tracks and Sounds; individual Loops on a track can be easily moved to different tracks; 2. Using the same 2D array, It allows for many cool transitions between an "alpha" deck collection of selected Loops to a "beta" deck collection of different selected Loops. And lots of carryover of features from impc pro, tho not all. Show more

    The app crashes
This app crashes when used with spotify, if money is a concern to you wait until retronyms updates the app. Judging by the frequency that mpc pro has been updated it could be a while. Bad first impression. Show more
