Your #1 Electric Piano Library: Neo-Soul Keys® Studio is a 100% FULL recreation of the desktop version. This version contains every single preset, effect, and functionality as the desktop version, which costs $199.99. In fact, any preset you make on the desktop is 100% compatible to the iOS version. Amazingly enough, we were able to include the full functionality of the popular desktop grade Vintage Keyboard FX Suite, by Overloud™ built into the library. Description: Neo-Soul Keys® Studio is the #1 electric piano application for iOS. These are some of the most realistic, organic, and warm sounding electric pianos ever created. We pride ourselves on the intangibles. By intangibles, we mean: grit, dirt, release, bark, mechanics, bumps, clanks, and all of the electromechanical goodness that makes up an electro mechanical piano. Without such great detail, your electric piano can be very sterile, lifeless, and without character. Alternatively, don't be mistaken--Our EPs can sound as clean and clear as a whistle, but you are always welcome to dial in as much dirt as you want. When you first play our electric pianos, you will immediately hear a very distinct difference from any other electric piano you've played. Terms like warmth, vintage, phat, weighty, and vibey are many of the words often used when describing the sound of Neo-Soul Keys®. When you first play this thing in the studio or live, you will hear your speakers fill the room with a very reminiscent vintage and old school sound of the '70s. All of this is because we didn't just sample the DI of our pianos. We used the same vintage and boutique equipment the top studios use, to create the COMPLETE electric piano sound and experience. See what the late-great George Duke has said about Neo-Soul Keys® and why he chose to use it live, rather than a real electric piano: "I also incorporated one called [Gospel Musicians] Neo-Soul Suitcase, because that has a little more grit and meat on it for certain types of sounds. There’s another that’s pretty smooth, and it’s also a Scarbee thing but it’s toned down; it doesn’t have a lot of attack. As a matter a fact, I’m using that sound on “Brazilian Love Affair.” When I go into playing more funk, I might use Neo-Soul Keys, which has a lot of attack....” (Keyboard Magazine, Aug. 2013). What's New in This Version: • New Clav. • 13 New Suitcases. • 10 New Stage EPs. • 14 New Wurli EPs (New RARE Wurli 300 (This Model was only available in Germany and came in a wooden cabinet). Poor update support
While the iOS version works fine, the Mac OS desktop version I purchased from Gospel Musicians, which was sold to me long after Mac OS Mojave was released was incompatible with Mojave. As soon as I upgraded to Mojave, Neo Soul Keys Studio crashed my DAW and is now useless and a waste of money. When I contacted support, all they offered was a discount to upgrade to the newest version. Except they should have never sold a version incompatible with the then-current version of Mac OS. I understand companies charging for a new version with new features. But most software companies keep previous versions (and we’re not talking about really old versions here) compatible with OS updates - especially when those updates happen before software is sold to the consumer. A nice instrument, but not one I will pay again for each time there is an update to Mac OS. Unless you actually like paying for that, I would steer clear of this product. Show more

    Neo soul keys studio
I compared ilectric piano, Kong Module Pro, Beathawk IAP electric piano, and had to settle with this. You get more for your money with this app and I love how flexible it is with other apps including Garage Band. Go on YouTube, check out Doug AKA Soundtestroom, he was instrumental to me making this purchase , Bassilicious I and II, all the GM apps. Great for recording and performing live. Show more

Amazing sound but keymap bug makes it unusable
This app sounds amazing but after playing for about 20 minutes the key maps get all screwed up and the pitches for the keys are wrong - it’s unplayable. Closing and reopening clears it for a while but not a real fix. Worst thing is I can find no contact form on the developer website, no tech support and nothing in the app to report the problem as far as I can tell. So - no other option but to leave a somewhat negative review and rating and see what happens from here... Show more

    Worth Every Penny
The sounds this app gives you are awesome. They are customizable and versatile. Just the suitcase sounds alone blew my mind. The amount of detail in the tone is impressive. This app also works perfectly with GarageBand if you want to record some the sounds in a track. To be specific, Neo Soul Keys (NSK) “merges” with GarageBand and allows you to creat midi tracks based on the sound chosen in NSK. I was so amazed at how seamless the transition from NSK to GarageBand was. I’d say that this app is great for any producer or jazz/gospel/funk musician. Show more

    Nuance
The Neo Soul Keys Studio app is an *amazing* purchase for $20, considering the desktop version for your Mac or PC is going for $200. It’s an astounding value. This iOS port replicates the desktop version in its entirety, with compressed samples to save space on your iPad. Of note, this app requires 4GB of space, so purchase accordingly. The AuV3 implementation is solid, and once you understand the interface it’s as full featured as the app itself. Gospel Musicians has digitized multiple vintage keyboards, notably Fender Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos, with not just the amp outputs, but also the sound of the mechanics – ie. the sound of the wood meeting the tine, the tine buzzing in its hammer stage, the clunk of the pedals, the clunk of the wood frame. I used to own a Wurlitzer EP 140B and I can say that this app accurately reproduces the sound, warts and all (which is what you want). In fact, when I played around with this app on a non-weighted MIDI controller, it almost convinced me that I was using weighted keys. The app’s pressure sensitivity is remarkable, and is a real testament to the developer’s attention to detail. The nuance of the notes struck on an external MIDI keyboard is impressive... when the mechanical options (clunks, bangs, busted tines, dirt) are turned on, they’re also pressure sensitive, giving an accurate portrayal of how a given physical keyboard can sound. Virtually, it’s probably the closest you can get without owning that particular keyboard as an object. They nailed it. My only issue is that the overall dB output is a little low, but you can fix that in your DAW or amplifier, if playing live. Such a bargain for iOS, if you’re looking for a wide range of authentic sounding electric pianos, this is the app to get. Show more

    Sounds great
Great sounding app, with tons of options. For some reason, though, the audio output level is a bit on the quiet side, even when using the preamp and such.
