NoteNames+ tackles one of the most serious roadblocks for young musicians: The ability to instantly recognize the names of notes. Instantaneous note recognition allows students to process other important information, such as dynamics, articulation, phrasing, fingerings, and so on. NoteNames+ was first developed nearly 20 years ago for the Macintosh, and now it lives on via iOS. Gone are the days of writing the names of notes above the music! Use NoteNames+ as a regular part of your curriculum. Features include: *Training for treble, bass AND alto clefs! *Enharmonic training *Major and minor key signature recognition *Scale spelling (major) *Key signature building (major and minor) *Google Docs implementation (free) Teachers can create their own unique school code in order to receive student scores and to set their own preference requirements *on a per-class basis* which is extremely powerful. Contact us to do this (it's free). NoteNames+ rewards speed *and* accuracy. Students will remain engaged rather than zoning out in a self-paced tutorial format.

    Perfect teaching tool
My Band teacher implemented this, and rhythm tapper app into our curriculum and they enormously improve sight reading and music literacy. Highly recommend these apps to any music student, or teacher. Show more

    Lacking audio reinforcement
This app has the potential to be good - simple, basic quizzing for reinforcement, but there is no audio component, it simply has a picture of the note on the staff, you press a button for the letter, and if correct, it displays a checkmark. It should play the pitch as it shows It to you on the staff, and then have an audible display of the note showing the correct letter name with it afterwards. Such a simple feature to incorporate to get 10x the learning. As it is, I feel I wasted 3$. So frustrating that you can't get an idea of what you are buying before you pay, and then can't return! Teaching notes the right way
This is a wonderful app that helps reinforce note names the correct way: by sight, not by some strange pneumonic device (Great Big Donkeys Fix Automobiles? Huh???) This has worked well for my band students with zero years’ experience as well as those with 5 years’ experience. It also works great for my 3rd grade son, taking piano lessons. Google Drive integration is not required, but makes the app much more customizable and powerful. I recommend. This is one of the few music apps out there that is designed by a music educator, and you can tell. It’s a great app. Show more
