People love Notes because it's easy and it works. This basic flashcard app helps beginners learn the letter names for notes on the bass and treble clef ("F" on bass through to "G" on treble). Features: • Displays a random note on the musical staff and you click the correct letter/key. • For MIDI savvy folk - this app is now MIDI enabled! Use Apple Core MIDI compliant devices with the app. • Change to either treble or bass clef by clicking the clef. • Toggle the visual effects on/off by tapping the trophy icon. • Practice only specific notes (click the gears icon to enter the Settings screen where you can disable all but the specific notes you want to practice) For feedback or suggestions please contact us at http://visionsencoded.com/contact/.

    Crashes randomly
    It does work with MIDI and seems like it should be useful to learn the notes/staff/keys... but it crashed for me every 5 - 20 notes played.

    Busted
    This app will not work on my Mac OS 11.6.6 - Big Sur. It's out of date. Unfortunate that the developer doesn't upgrade it; I liked it. RIP

    Basic but just what I needed
    This app is old and needs to be updated but it it still works with a few bugs and a few crashes. I needed an app to help me learn the notes on the bass cleff which is what this app was designed to do. My midi keyboard worked fine with the app which makes the app even more useful. At the time of this reveiew the app cost $4. Considering it has not been updated in five years, it is still worth $4 if all you need is to leaarn the notes. Show more

    Very, Very Basic
    The graphics are done well, but the program is appropriate for only someone very young or a very new beginner. I am sorry that the writeup did not make that clear. I wasted only a few minutes and only a few dollars, but wish I had known what to expect. Show more

    Doesn’t Connect with MIDI
    I bought this app because it was advertised as being able to connect with your MIDI-capable keyboard. Unfortunately, it doesn’t connect. If it did, it would be a great way to learn the notes, but without that function it is quite limited. I’m hoping the developer finds a way to fix that so I can begin using it. Show more

    It’s okay.
    It’s good for memorization, but i wish it would have things like goals, or songs to learn, something to motivate you to keep going because it does get tedius after a while. Also, it would be awesome if there was a way to incorporate the mac keyboard into it so it wasn’t all just clicking! But this app does get the job done if you’re just looking to strictly memorize notes. Show more

    Notes Learn to read music
    This is a fun simple to use and effective way to learn to read music. I have used other apps which worked effectively but were not as simple and easy to use. I would recommend this for any one young or old who wants to quickly learn the basic notation. Show more
