The premiere 6-string acoustic steel guitar simulator, Pearl Guitar delivers absolutely stunning sound - the most realistic, lush, organic and warm tone you will hear in the mobile digital domain. In addition, Pear Guitar features Retina graphics, smooth animations and stylish parallax effects animating the strings! Pearl Guitar is a carefully tuned virtual representation of the legendary vintage 1979 Martin & Co dreadnaught, one of the best acoustic guitars in the world. An optimized 76-Mb sound database is further processed by CascadeEQ synthesis, producing pristine clear stereo audio with a nasty bite of accidental roars, movement hums, string noises and guitar body resonances. The strumming feels natural; the smooth, dynamic sound varies as you adjust your playing speed. After just a little training, the performance is hardly distinguished from a real guitar. There is also a metronome and a conga drum machine which provide rhythm assistance. Pearl Guitar offers a novel way to play impressive solo passages - SoloBoard, a button matrix that represents the notes within the detected scale. You can bend the strings and slide between frets, discovering new melodies and progressions. Record your singing along with the guitar by connecting a headset (like EarPods) or just headphones. Overdub several takes if needed. The minimalistic interface provides instant access to the recording and metronome features. A "Smart Follow" option highlights the next correct chord in the sequence of the song. The standard version offers 16 most popular chords. Upgrade to Premium Mode to unlock Audiobus, File Manager, and the Chords menu, as well as the ability to make your own songs using the built-in 1000+ chord database (with variations), or your own custom created chords. Songs can be exchanged with the community over Internet. Standard edition includes: + A virtual 1979 Martin acoustic steel guitar + Unprecedented sound realism + True stereo output + CascadeEQ synthesis - lush and warm sound + Guitar body hits and hums, string noises + Variable strumming speed + Conga Drum Machine + Up to 16 chords per song + "Smart Follow" highlights the next chord + "SoloBoard" - unique solo interface + Record to .WAV with a single tap + Record singing using a headset or mic + iTunes File Sharing support + 16 most popular chords Premium Mode (in-app purchase) additionally brings: + Chord Menu (edit songs, chords and sequences, exchange with the community over internet) + 1000+ chord database with variations and custom chords + File Manager with sharing options (Dropbox, Audiocopy, Email) + MIDI record (along with .WAV), virtual and hardware in/out + Audiobus functionality.

    Broken.
Don't buy. Looks like the app was sold to a app collecting company. We will never see another update.

    Completely useless for actual guitarists
I was hoping for an app that would have an actual approximation of a guitar fretboard to help me visualize scales and chords. Instead, the fretboard is arranged upside down and only has 4 frets. This app is totally useless and could actually be harmful to beginner guitarists who mistakenly think this will help them learn the fretboard. Instead it will only create bad habits and false confidence. Show more

Used to be the best simulated guitar app...
...even better than Apple's own guitar in GarageBand, however it has been unusable since the developer has failed to update the app to work properly with iOS 8 and Audiobus. It deserves 5 stars and it'll get those stars if they simply put some money back into updating! Also, I've never been able to get the MIDI function to work and they are no tutorials! Show more

    I feel like scam
You know, it really sound nice this app. But I bought it for the premium functions and now, I can't make run the midi out using FL Studio Mobile. That wouldn't be a real problem since you could contact a support team... And that's why I give this 1 star... I like to put 0 stars, but I can't. I paid for premium features that don't work AND there are no real support. Unless something bring usefulness to this app, don't bother with downloading it, and don't pay for features that has no support. Show more

    Very Slick App!
I simply can not believe the stupid, petty reasons people are giving for trashing this very excellent app. Don't believe it. This thing rocks. The closest you're going to get without grabbing a real guitar. I would give it 5 stars, but it loses a star because it took so long to fix broken "song" name and artist saving. Show more

And "F" for failing to deliver MIDI
Wonderful sounds, but don't buy the upgrades people! I bought the upgrade specifically to be able to use it as a virtual MIDI controlled instrument with my other iPad apps. It crashes every time, pure and simple. How sad. It could be such a great app, but now it's actually just a ripoff. Show more

    MIDI doesn't work
Paid for MIDI, but the app crashes when expanding Hardware MIDI when there is another MIDI app running. And it's impossible to enable Local MIDI (useful if using Midiflow) and Network MIDI. It's a good app if you do not care about MIDI. Show more
