The Simmons Drums Basic App is designed to extend the capabilities of the Simmons SD100, SD200, SD300, SD350, SD500, SD550, & SD600 electronic drum kits. Remotely edit and save drum kits and sounds with your iOS device using a user-friendly interface. Improve your playing with the "Teaching tool," which lets you play along with real audio tracks in a game-like environment to help you improve your skills and meter.  The "Play along" function accesses your iOS's music library and manipulates the playback speed so you can slow down a song to learn the groove. Users may need to download the latest Firmware update from http://simmonsdrums.net/ Users with a SD100, SD200, SD300, SD350, SD500, or SD550 will need an Apple USB Camera Connector kit and USB cable to connect the kit drum module to their iOS device.

    Eh. Needs work.
    The app overall is relatively easy to navigate. Adjusting different sounds for every single aspect of the kit really opens up the customization of the set you choose to get. I think my only complaint though, which is why I gave it 3 stars for one thing, is that it won’t connect 80% of the time. Really frustrating when I’m trying to dial in what sounds I’m really looking for and want to experiment with. Show more

    Doesn’t work
    Agree with other reviewers. It takes a minute or two of trying to load a song from itunes and that’s all i want to use it for.

    App Does Not Work
    The issues with this app basically make it unusable. For starters, the app would quit any time I tried to load a song to play along with. This is the key feature of the app, no one cares that you can select your drum kit with the app. The module works for that, but the one functionality that would make it useful doesn’t work. They out out a “fix” and now the song loads and plays through my phone speaker not the headphones. If my parents hadn’t gotten this for me as a present I’d return the whole set. FIX YOUR APP ITS BEEN MONTHS/YEARS IT HASN’T WORKED. Show more

    If you’re gonna advertise the app on the box that the drums come in, make it a better app. The ability to play with songs of your choosing doesn’t work, which would be the only reason this app would be worth even opening. Extremely underwhelming app. Looks like it was put together in 1 day by 1 person. Show more

    Play alone feature doesn’t work
    Play along does not work. When you select a song it freezes and then crashes. I tried reinstalling multiple times and still won’t work. Hopefully there will be a fix soon. Show more

    Hugely disappointing
    I have the Simmons 600, but no matter what I do the app will not let me play along with my own music. They say that the new update fixes it, but it doesn’t. One of the only good things the app does, doesn’t even work. It is disappointing, annoying, and a huge waste of time. Show more

    Doesn’t quite work
    I have version 1.5.1 and play along will not work at all. I’ve tried multiple times with multiple songs, and even tried deleting and redownloading the app; nothing worked. It also has troubles when I try to connect to my drum set (SD350) and won’t let me alter any sound settings. It’s really a shame, because I was looking forward to the app with great expectations.
