Tag is an elegant metadata editor for all of your music. Tag supports editing of FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, Ogg Opus, DSF, Musepack, WavPack, Monkey's Audio, Speex, True Audio, Apple Lossless, AAC, MP3, WAV, and AIFF files. The intuitive interface simplifies common editing tasks and also allows more advanced changes including editing multiple album artwork images. For files with incomplete or missing metadata Tag can guess tag values by matching the filename to a user-defined pattern. Tag can also search Discogs to flesh out any missing metadata, and Tag can even identify and tag unknown files using AcoustID.

Missing some very important features from older version
No way to rename files in finder based on values. No keyboard shortcuts for things like Guessing Tags.

    Worked Ok for a while
This app worked well for a while and has recently ‘disappeared’ - meaning that when I open an MP3 file the tag window does not appear. Now useless. I wrote ‘support’ but have not heard back. Show more

Still works in 10.12; great but not perfect
It feels like this app has been abandoned by its developer, which is a shame, because I use it frequently as I import and tag my CD collection. Thankfully it still functions in 10.12, but I am worried about its future. It won’t work indefinitely, after all. It does a really good job tagging pretty much any kind of taggable audio file you throw at it, which is great. I wish it could also preview tracks. It certainly doesn’t need to play the whole track, but a quick 15-30 second preview might be helpful. Another small-but-helpful feature (which I requested once upon a time when the dev was still active) was a way to see the size of any embedded artwork. A tooltip on mouseover, for instance, or just a display beneath the art in the artwork pane. Anyway, it’s a good app though I’m not sure I can recommend an apparently abandoned app that costs $5 when there are doubtless other tagging apps which might do as well for less (or nothing!). Replay Gain
Tag can calculate Replay Gain. Handy! (Replay Gain's Album Gain is recognized by iTunes; see Get Info > Options > volume adjust)

    Meh
The app is not very intuitive. It is clunky and either there is no artwork or there is a glitch.
