The top-rated Time Guru for iPad is designed to strengthen your internal sense of time by muting (going silent) and leaving you on your own - to check if you rush or drag or are spot on with your sense of time. It's awesome for every musician. Muting can occur randomly or in patterns that you choose. This version of Time Guru has a layout specifically designed for an iPad, reducing scrolling and screen flips. Time Guru also allows you to make additive or compound time signatures with ease to practice modern, complex music. String together a bar of 7/8 with 2 bars of 4/4 and a bar of 5/4 and so on. Aside from typical subdivisions, there are quintuplet, sextuplet and septuplet subdivisions too, Time Guru also features: -creation of rhythmic drum-machine like patterns -presets saving for tempo, meter, sound and muting settings -35 loud sound sets -Human or robot voice counting in English, Chinese, French, German or Russian - great for teaching! -tap tempo (5 to 300 BPM range) -super accurate, rock-solid timing via a customized audio engine.

Doesn’t work in portrait mode on iPad Pro
Pretty annoying when practicing with scores on the iPad. Other than the gradual function it really doesn’t do anythimg that Tonal Energy’s metronome doesn’t do, and that app is much more user friendly and has many more features. This was a game changing app in it’s day but has been left behind, unfortunately. Show more

    Super glitchy iPad Pro
Completely useless on iPad Pro. Deleted and re-installed. Emailed for advice several times to no response. Great for iPhone, crap for iPad. Stay away. The issue was that the controls for adding or removing subdivisions in the “meter select” don’t work. So if I added any variation to the metronome it was irreversible, and in order to clear it and get a new metronome, I had do delete and reinstall the app. Annoying to the max in the middle of a practice routine. I’ll revise my rating if they fix this issue, or even respond to my query. Show more

Almost what I was looking for
I'm a new bass player trying to wrap my head around rhythm. My new exercises explore triplets and 16th notes. I wanted an app that I could input the rhythm from my exercises and have it play back in various tempos. This app does that, except it doesn't allow you to input dotted quarter notes. So, so close. The excellent Time Guru with a great layout for iPads
This new iPad-specific version of Time Guru takes advantage of the extra screen size of the iPad (compared to the iPhone) and puts all the main functions on one screen, with a simple toggle between presets and settings. It’s an awesome practice tool that has graduated to having it’s own iPad version. Yay! Show more
