    Great!
Using RPTMidi and this app, it has been easy to record and adjust levels from the drum set. Note: once RPTMidi was setup, I did have to restart the app to get the host computer to recognize the iPad. Show more

    Doesn’t work
Don’t waste your money. Doesn’t work, no instructions for Cubase.

    Works well in Ableton
I’ve used this in Ableton Live 11, and it works pretty well. The reason I gave it three stars, is because this app hasn’t been updated for some time, and the setup instructions are a little confusing. Mackie? Mackie Classic? What even is the difference between the two (in Ableton, not this app). Show more

Works with Adobe Premiere 2022, M1 Monterey, and original iPad 1!
So happy to find this app in May 2022, that works on my original iPad 1 as a Mackie control surface for Adobe Premiere Pro 2022 in Monterey on an M1 Ultra Mac Studio. Great way to repurpose an obsolete iPad! I haven't had a chance to use it much yet, but it does seem to transmit time code, audio track names, audio track and overall mix faders work, and playback transport controls. "Global" button switches between Audio Clip Mixer and Audio Track Mixer. I did have trouble connecting the iPad into the MIDI session, until I disabled IPv6 on my Mac. The error I was getting was: [IPv6 address] "didn't respond to the connection request. Check the address and port, and any firewall or router settings. (16:41:21)" To fix it, in System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced... > TCP/IP > "Configure IPv6:" change from "Automatically" to "Manually". I definitely want to check out the developer's other app MIDI Studio Pro which also says it works on iPad 1. Hope Apple doesn't purge this from the App Store, it still works fine! I also tested the app on my new iPad Mini 6 which has a new screen size, unfortunately the app doesn't fill the screen. But it does seem to work well otherwise on iOS 15. I hope the developer will update the app to support new iPad screen sizes. Thanks for continuing to keep this app available! Show more

I wrote a poor review then changed it to positive.
I wasn’t getting some features at first, but restarted my iPad and now everything is working quite well in Digital Performer

    Love it on Ableton.
I’ve used this on Ableton Live 8,9,10 and now pulling on 11. So a few years now and really love it. Trouble free. Integrates with my Focusrite Clarett 8Pre usb perfectly. I am able to walk away from the desk, walk to the performance area and run the whole session from my iPad. If I am also performing I can put the iPad on a music stand then monitor and control the session perfectly. If you are used to MCU control this has the look and feel of a hardware unit with the advantage of portability any where you are as long as you are in the same network. I can make changes on this and see my Icon Qcon Pro G3 following along in the control room. Beautiful. Indispensable for my workflow. Cheers and keep up the good work! Show more

    Pro Tools HUI running flawlessly
This thing actually works seamlessly. I’m running over the built-in network midi interface on Mac Snow Leopard 10.6.8, then as a HUI midi in Pro Tools 9HD. Extremely well integrated. Very pleased. Show more

    Excellent for Digital Performer!
This is exactly what I was looking for! Like many, I am heartbroken that MOTU has apparently stopped development of their DP Control app. This is a fantastic replacement in my opinion. So far, all basic functions are working perfectly for me, including transport, track meters, faders, and Save (yay!). I can delete a track in the DAW and the iPad control surface updates immediately. The instructions included with the app are clear and very helpful in getting a MacBook network connection working with the iPad. Then, just add a Mackie Control element in the Control Surface Setup in DP, Input Port is “Network-1” and you’re all set! It helps if you have a little bit of experience using Control surfaces with DP, but it’s not hard at all if you follow the instructions in the included manual. For me, this fills the void left by MOTU’s discontinuation of development of their brilliant DP Control app. I’m really glad I found this. It’s easily the best $3 I’ve spent in a long time. My thanks to the developer. Good stuff. Show more

    This app deserve mor attention.
I just bought an iPad Air to read books and to twist some mobile music production stuffs. I have been using Ableton for 3 years and I really wanted a controller mixer all time because I some time had a recording duty. Tweaking with mouse is really messy. I thought that if I buy an iPad I could try some controller app. I first found Touchable which is really expensive for some one doesn’t need all the control. Then I found LK it is really messing, I don’t know it just me or I really got confuse. Then I saw this app. I didn’t expect so much because if some interface look like old school or analog stuff it just happen to be trash. Then I downloaded this app. First time midi connecting is confusing me but not that much. Then when the app directly assign all you knobs and faders directly from my Ableton and I can directly control necessary knob and mixing right away I opened it, I’m just so happy now. What a worth for $3 app!. If some one is reading my review and if her/she is an Ableton user looking for mixer controller (not complete control) you came to the very right place. Show more

    Remarkable app
This app is a lifesaver‘ got it several years ago and has been so convenient. I just grab my IPad open the Daw Control app and go.Saves so many steps around my Recording Studio. I just can’t imagine how much time it’s saved me! So 2 thumbs up do these developers. I’m also sure that Mackie thanks you thanks you guys... Useful app every day! App is crap, no customer service...
I had high hopes for this app when I first found it, but my hopes were soon dashed after I bought it. Where to start? Here are a few of the disappointments: when using the Ableton setup, the fader buttons don’t line up with 0 (unity gain). They are almost 4 dB off. The VUs on the faders are almost impossible to see. For some inexplicable reason when numbering the channel strips, they left the number 8 off of channel 8. And the topper? Zero customer service. I emailed them regarding these issues and received no reply. Glad it’s cheap because it’s a throw away. Show more

    Can’t make it control SONAR
rtpMIDI shows a connection. Cakewalk asks if it can connect. Nothing happens. I’ve tried all of the suggestions in the rtpMIDI documentation. I’m at a loss. Is there a way to unpurchase and get my money refunded? Show more

    Poor customer support
I bought this app a few days ago. Couldn’t get it to work with ProTools 12 on my Mac. Sent a couple of emails to the customer support address they provided. Still haven’t had a response. It only cost a couple bucks, but I still expect the company to provide quick customer service. Show more
