This latest update makes both Mainstage and Logic unusable. Apple has become a sad shadow of what they used to be with their total lack of quality control. They should be ashamed of putting untested garbage updtates out that not only look bad for them, but ruin the workflow of people who rely on them for work, but that would look bad for investors. I remember when Apple cared more aboput their customers than stockholders. Thanks Tim for ruining a once great iconic company! I guess I will switch to Ableton. Atleast they care about quality. I mainly use Mac for my Mainstage concert. Previously, I had MacBook Pro 2015 and I thought it was time to get a new computer since Mainstage was running kinda slow. Here I am, buying newest 2021 MacBook Pro on M1 Pro chip hoping everything would work smoothly. As soon as I open Mainstage everything crashes, and it keeps crashing everytime I play a concert. This is TERRIBLE!!! Apple, fix it!!! Show more

why cant all the samples just be saved into the file like logic does. doesnt make sense that you have to go into each audio sample and save it a certain way in order to be consolidated into one file Show more

Tired of the constant slowness, freeze-ups during live performances, crashes, bugs, and infrequent software updates to fix issues. Mainstage is great when it's working properly, but 3.6 is the worst release I've seen. Switching to Ableton. Show more

Previous version worked great-- new version is super slow and unresponsive. It makes me wonder if Apple is trying to coerce me to buy a new machine, for no other reason than they want more money. I wish I hadn't updated. Show more

After the new update Mainstage crashes and won't open; running a Mid 2014 Macbook Pro. Never had any problems before. Highly disappointed.

This has been a critical piece of software for me for years -- - I knew I should have read the most recent reviews before downloading. This newest update, V3.6, is unusable/buggy/broken.... No other way to put it....and I'm running on the new silicon. Please fix this! Show more

I have a 2021 Macbook Pro M1 Max and when using Mainstage 3.6 the patches don't pull up the stock sounds in Concert/Performance mode. For some reason they are missing and when I pull up the plugin I have to manually reset it. That just doesn't work when I'm performing live. Gonna go back to version 3.5.3 and wait until they fix these issues. Mainstage is a great program just not at the moment for me unfortunantly. I hope they address this soon! This app is just broken. After the update both the patch panel and the studio controls panel have a white background with white text making them unusable. Only solution is to permanatly turn on dark mode. How do you release garbage like this? Show more

3.6 is a FULL FAILURE!!!! 5 different MACs from 2013 to an M1. AND NOW NONE OF THEM DO ANYTHING excpet hang on startup... one has been thre for 36 minutes no change... The new update is AUTROCIOUS! Completey has unassigned mappings, INCLUDING the sustain pedal module. UNABLE to assign...it swtiches to Volume 7 EVERY TIME. Needs to be fixed IMMEDIATELY.

I have a MacbookPro mid 2012 with mainstage that runs amazing. Now I have a 2020 Macbook Air M1, so now when I open Mainstage it lags for about 3 min before there is no lag. The worse part for me is when I play the trombone from Kontakt and some othe sounds the whole volume compresses to where the sound loses so much body I cant even use the Macbook Air live anymore. This issue has been driving me crazy! I do not have any compressor set anywhere for this to happen. Its almost as if this Macbook Air has a built in compressor impossible to toggle off. Can anyone help? Show more

mainstage 3 has too many bugs not reliable for performances

Very buggy and crash evrytime i switch audio to my interface.

More buggy than that log they ate from in Lion King and crashes more than a crash test dummy.

Love the flexibility of the program but when adding patches or sounds and trying to rearrange them in order....it is not intuitive for the drag and dropping of audio/midi channels etc. Overall interface could use a little bit of a facelift. Additionally, the board itself where you set up your "rig" view needs to be more user friendly for sizing etc. Other than that, still a great product Show more

Mainstage is a great alternative for other programs, specifically Ableton. I use it for church to playback pre-recorded intrsuments meanwhile we play, and it works perfectly, now I am sending the click sound from mainstage to our drummer and we are syncing together very well. But there is a bug that I have been able to work around for now but it was very annoying, the fourth track in the 8 backing track template does not let me map any button to the play/stop and I have no idea why, but it works in other channels, so that is what I have done for now. I would also like for the Mainstage team to please allow for Mainstage to support changes in tempo and for mainstage to be able to read it and change its tempo according to the file information that was bounced with said recording. I record these instruments through Logic so there isn't any compatibility error, its just that the playback plugin or just Mainstage itself does not support automated tempo information, please it would be great if you guys could attend to these situations, Thank you in advance. The 3.5.2 update has made the playback plugin functioniality very glitchy. It sometimes starts tracks doubly, so that the click/cues are phasing in a weird manner. It also does not allow the user to pause the playback but just restarts it continually. Show more

Apple should add some download servers if they want to charge this much. Download takes forever.
