    Sad
Great & helpful app. But one big thing was that before the app and books we’re totally free, I understand maybe they wanted to profit more but it is just really said to see that it’s not free anymore. Show more

    Helpful mostly
If you are taking piano lessons and working in Fabers books, then I recommend getting this app. You’ll be able to see and hear the piece you’re working played. It’s missing dynamics, accent marks and other musical notations that are in the books. Even with that, I highly recommend this app because for just a few dollars you can here the songs played - huge! You mute or unmute the accompaniment or the left or right hand playing. I have yet to watch the videos, but plan too. - now get back to practice! Show more

please include songs from previous wsitions of same book
Hi so never mind the 10,000 things that it does pretty well, one of the things that's really hanging me up as a student is that my teacher has the second edition of the accelerated piano adventures for older beginners and apparently I have the first edition and they are differences between the two books. At this moment I'm getting hung up because the first edition has "home on the range" on page 40 and the second edition has "oh Susanna". Now in the app there is only access to "oh Susanna" so I'm kind of stuck because I don't have a way to utilize the app to learn this lesson. We also ran into this as the first edition has "sailors tall tale" but in the second addition apparently it is the same music but it's been renamed "gypsy band" so we could still utilize the app for that one. Home on the Range is also not available on the website as midi or anywhere else that I can find. Aside from various versions on YouTube (most of which are vastly above my ability) . In closure please include all versions of songs that were ever included on any esition of the lesson and performance books Show more

    Terrific App
I’m an early beginner on piano, but have played guitar for years. This is a very nice app, more feature rich, stable, and usable than I expected it to be. Often, these types of apps are a quick and dirty thing that doesn’t work well, and then the company never updates it, or adds content. This app works quite well, and seems to get updated semi-regularly. Kudos to the Faber folks. I suggest using a cable to connect your iPad to your keyboard. Bluetooth introduces a delay that is noticable to most folks. A cable connection doesn’t have a noticable delay. This isn’t an app issue, it is a “feature” of bluetooth. They provide 3 songs with the free app so you can try it out to see if it works for you. The content that follows the course and song books are purchased individually, for around $5. Very reasonably priced. I just wish that all their books were available. [ To those that complained that all this should be free: I have to ask, “Do you work for free?” Yep, didn’t think so…. ] The app respects your privacy by not gathering information about you. Only diagnostics not linked to your identity are collected. I appreciate the respect, and never use apps that invade my privacy. It’s not a subscription! THANKS! I never do the subscriptions. This app isn’t perfect. Here are a few things I’d like to see improved. Occasional crashes when I press the Play button. It should always play the count-in “ticks”, even if the metronome is turned off. Otherwise, you’re just guessing when to start playing. The little dots don’t help me at all. Count-in needs to be separate from the loop markers. I often want to loop the whole “song/exercise” to practice it, and don’t want it to loop the count-in each and every time through. The current unit and file/exercise should be highlighted when you go back to the menu to choose an exercise. When you play back a recording, it should remember your last settings for playing back a recording. There are too many keypresses required to listen back, and look for mistakes, then playing again. Midi artifacts on some of my recordings. There are often some notes, and drones that I didn’t play that show up when I play back recordings. My keyboard is a Medeli AKX10. The tempo and [Normal, Follow, Wait] buttons are too small for me to read on my 12.9 inch Ipad Pro. Improve how the app shows you how you did with rhythm as well as note selection. For instance, the app shows no errors as long as I play the correct notes, even if played stacatto when it should be legato. Needs dynamics and fingering added to the sheet music display. Show more

    Great practice tool
Love the app! I agree with previous reviews to add in some kind of countdown at the beginning of the piece, it could be like a two measure tick. This would help the students to feel the pulse and to know when to enter. Show more

    Glitches or money grabbing?
I loved PA PLAYER and I thought $5 was a great deal for the interactive recordings. My only complaint was that the dynamics were always missing and students couldn’t learn fully. But either there is a glitch or they are trying to take more money from us because I already paid for all levels and the restore purchase button is not working. I was in the middle of a lesson and I couldnt access anything. BAD FOR BUSINESS. I tried to repurchase and only one book came up :( Super sad I hope this gets fixed because I was a regular user… Show more

    Missing lines of staff
I do not see the grand staff, only the notes. That is not how the app is pictured. Is there a way to fix this? I tried resizing but no joy. I am running iOS 12. Otherwise, this looks good. Show more

Fun and effective for adults & children
I love this app for all of my students, but especially my adult beginners. My adult students like the fact that they can hear and play along with the songs at different tempos, with tracks that actually sound nice and not cheesy. The videos included with the Adult levels in the app are incredibly powerful, as well, especially for self-learners. This is high-level teaching and high-level technology solving so many needs that a student has during the week. Can’t recommend highly enough! Show more

    No interest in further development?
It’s been years (before COVID) and still no level 4 or 5 lesson and etc. it feels like they don’t care about it. It’s losing value as a teaching aid for me. Show more

Fun app to play along with the physical books
I enjoy so much of this app..have been using it for my students to play along with. The arrangements are wonderful and stylistic. I love the facts that you can enlarge the music sheet page, adjust the tempi, turn on/off the metronome… One thing I believe it can be improved is that the app can allow users to use iPad/iPhone own mic to record the piano sound without having to connect to a midi device. Spectacular! Faber app Bluetooth MIDI in/out connection to Roland fp-30x
Easy set up worked the very first time and super stable Bluetooth connection to our children’s fp-30x. Both their teachers use Faber The best for us is: - app provides access to all the Faber books, price for each collection volume set are very reasonable - Audio of the piece 100% correctly played by the app outputs straight to the fp-30x speakers: same instrument, tone and pitch children practice with, which helps a ton - the apps listening/analysis/evaluation note by note is sooo effective, the kids got used to the visualizations in a very short time Note: the interface is simplified and really easy to use, if not intuitive enough just go back to the short guide / cheat sheet of the app - interface very intuitive Bottom line: this apps is 100% perfect for us because our kids are taught exclusively with Faber piano adventures, it has everything they need to practice autonomously, self check and confidently improve their performance...plus no more discussions with mom and dad...the apps playback is always correct! Thanks very much Faber!! Show more

    Please fix the bug!! :-)
Hi!! Big fan of the app- I have sent many of my students to this and it’s helped tremendously for virtual lessons during covid. PLEASE could you have your team fix the bug where when we slow the tempo down on a song, the accompaniment track raises by a half step? Thank you!!! Show more

    Timing is off
I have loved using the midi files on my piano with the Faber books and was hopeful that this would be a good at-home app for my students. Unfortunately, more often than not, the cursor does not follow the music and is often ahead of what the student should play. It needs some work before I can ask my students to purchase the app. Show more

    Piano Teachers Dream
This is one of the best apps I’ve used as a piano teacher. Maybe THE best. The tools are invaluable. The ability to take any song in the Faber series and slow it down to ANY tempo, isolate left or right hand, add a backing track or metronome and control levels is incredibly helpful. It also includes the ability to see a keyboard and watch what notes are being played as well as sheet music for the pieces. For 4.99, per level, this is an absolute steal. I saw a review saying the instruments sounds cheap. It uses midi data which is inherently going to sound kinda silly. But the goal of this app is to get you sounding better and on time. There’s plenty of videos on YouTube of people playing these songs if you want to see how it sounds on a real piano. Again, as a teacher, I cannot recommend this enough for people who use Faber. It gets the kids more into the book music they’re playing and it adds that interactive component that a lot of restless kids want and need to focus. Show more

    Sound no longer working
Attempted to contact app support a outbound issue but it sends you right back to the Home Screen with no ability to report problem.

    Love the App, but...
I’m a piano teacher and I absolute love this app, I’ve used it for over a year now (was using the hard copy books prior to this). The metronome and the follow along player are useful, though the sound quality is a bit low grade but no big deal. My only criticism is that the app does not include the Theory books, and the actual music does not have ANY dynamic markings, nor does it include the appropriate finger numbering for students to follow along with, all things that are very much within the hard copy, paper books. It would be a great benefit to both me, the teacher, and my students if these features were included in your app. Would very much love and welcome an update to include these items! Show more

    Very Helpful But Not Perfect
It is helpful to hear the songs, especially for figuring out temp and counting. It is also nice to see the music in the app follow the music. I don’t think the $4.99 for each book’s music is a big deal but I would like a little more for that money, per my below comments. Big negative for me is that there is no audible count in to the music. There are a couple beats that are visually counted down — not audibly — and then the music takes off. You have to be psychic to know when to start with the music. Not to mention that you barely have time to get your hands to the right keys. That’s a major flaw. It should not be difficult to insert two measures of metronome at tempo before each piece. Then you could play along. Minor gripe is the sound of the piano. It sounds like a cheap synthesizer. It would be great if the piano sounded more like a piano. Maybe Yamaha or Kawai would let the publisher use a sample in exchange for some advertising space. It would really be nice to have a better piano sound. Show more

    Unstable
Some songs freeze up; variable loudness. Not able to set the levels between the piano and the accompaniments. Piano setting change from going from on song to another. Get ready from some frustration. Show more
