This is not really a review but can I use this app for the viola to ?

I’m not sure how good it is because right out of the gate it charges $45 bucks per month for only 1 lesson. ($540 per year). For that amount of money I can see an real person in the flesh, not pay for zoom calls. If I want a video teacher, there always YouTube. I would suggest giving the student a free lesson or two, let them get hooked on the class (or not) and then you can hit them with the “If you want to continue with your lessons with Joshua Bell, please subscribe.” Otherwise, this is like asking someone if they want to eat at the French Laundry and they’re like: “Why would I pay $400 to eat at a laundry mat?” Show more

Very good instructions; I felt like I am taking a mini class. I Would love to have daily tutorials like this. To help me be a better violin player.

Inconsistent updates. Latest update brought song, scales, etc all together into a giant list. Not good

They need an option to turn off the pitch police. I have to put a silencer on my violin since I live in a condo and don’t want to annoy my neighbors, so even when the cord is absolutely correct it still grinds to a halt to tell me to position my fingers where they already are. I’m not a beginner and I have a tutor, so I know my fingering. This stopping really takes the fun out of practicing and is infuriating when I have to stop my rhythm to glide my finger in the wrong spot for the note to move on. If I mess up a note, just highlight it. Show more

I was skeptical of this at first but it works! This app makes the difficult task of learning to play the violin easier and more fun. If you want to learn how to play the violin this is a must have. Show more

The app keeps saying something went wrong every time I try to sign up. It doesn’t matter if I sign up for through Apple ID or put by your user and password in Show more

I paid $45 for the subscription -the cheapest option- and deleted the app less then an hour later. After the paywall you learn that this app has you sight read pieces without any way to practice them. You can’t watch your fingers or bow placement when you are trying to keep up with music you don’t know. Show more

Im sorry but you have to PAY for this app to learn songs it’s cheaper to do school classes then it is to use this app. You have to pay $140 a month to learn song i can go on goggle and look up sheet music and only pay $4 vs $140. I would not recommend. ? Show more

Without Trala, I wouldn’t be able to play violin. They give easy lessons and step by step tutorials on how to do everything. Best of all, it’s free! You only have to pay for live videos which is optional. Be sure to get this easy app that teaches you to read notes and play violin like a pro! Show more

Trala is great to learn violin by yourself at your own pace. I have absolutely no musical background so I’m not just learning a new instrument but also how to read notes. The videos/lessons are easy to understand, they gradually get harder and you learn depending on how much to dedicate to it. You can also get 1 on 1 lessons with a Trala instructor. Every time I go on a course, eventually it’s says I need to tune then I tune but I tune again then it’s not the right sound then it said I needed to tighten the E string and then ,pop it goes. My E string snapped because of this stupid app. Now I have to go all the way to a violin shop and get my E string repaired because of the stupid app Show more

I used this in the last and I wanted to renew that, just to see that it only comes with private lessons. So I skip for now. In general it has good videos showing up how to play, and also measures your play quality and scores you. Songs are boring and unknown folk songs, kind of boring and not motivating. You do not feel the achievement if you don’t play something you know. App is missing some convenience. When performing, you need to use earphones as it gets confused from its own sound. But it captures your pitch well, but I think lagging in timing. And some scenes do not work horizontal and some don't work vertical; so you need to keep flipping your phone. You cannot turn your iphone upside down, imagine putting it down somewhere vertical with earphones plugged at the bottom. My E chord was good tuned and it said for me to tune it up more and I did but then the E chord chopped out of the violin. AND I AM JUST A KID!!!!! And idk anything about this? Show more

Trala will not open on my iPhone or iPad

I was expecting at least one thing to be free but since I’m broke like a joke I can’t even pay to get the subscription which is the only way you can get past the entrance screen. I kinda expected it to be kinda like Yousician, but i ended up deleting it cuz ya know if I have to pay for some stupid subscription just to get past the Home Screen, I might as well just pay to download the app. Honestly just felt like click bait, but that’s just how I feel.
