    Keeps dropping iPad
    It keeps losing connection to the ipad. It’s great when you can get it to work

    Can’t adjust guitar output volume
    Great that you can do adjustments to the effects and tone settings using the app but you can’t adjust the guitar output volume with the amp?? I can see the volume numbers changing on the guitar output volume dial but it does nothing to change the volume coming out of the amp. The only way to change the guitar output volume is by physically turning the knob on the amp. What a crock! Fix this simple functionality on the amp! Show more

    Most dysfunctional app I’ve used
    Quite possibly the most dysfunctional app I’ve used. It cannot remain connected to the amp for more than five minutes at a time, and often freezes. With the price you pay for the amp and the inability to modulate certain sounds without the app, this is really poor form Yamaha. Show more

    THR30II
    I purchased my THR300II about a month ago. After a few days, I download and install the APP on my iPad, and it worked really well. I have been super busy of the past few weeks, and did not use my Amp. Then today I tried to use it and the APP is totally unusable. To begin with I could not get it to stay connected. It would connect for a few seconds then disconnect. Now it will not even connect. I tried rebooting my iPad, tried repairing the APP to my iPad and tried reinstalling the APP. It is totally inoperable. I love the AMP, but the APP gives you more adjustment function that you can’t do with the knobs. Please fix this Yamaha, and please fix it soon!!! Update: Issues unchanged!! Contacted Yamaha concerning the issues of this APP. It has been almost a month and have heard nothing back from Yamaha. THIS IS BAD YAMAHA. BAD!! Show more

    14.3 did not fix the Bluetooth LE connectivity
    The app will not connect to the amp. Update 14.3 did not fix this issue. When will this be fixed?

    App Just Flat Out Doesn’t Work
    This app is garbage. It just freezes after about 5 seconds. There’s lots of functionality that I can’t access on the amp because this app is a complete piece of junk. Frustrating!!! Like the amp, wish that they could get competent app developers because this amp could be so much better with all of the functionality. Show more

    Bluetooth doesn’t always work!
    I first downloaded the app when I got the amp, it worked amazing the first time I used it. Everything went as it should. A week later which is today I tried using the app and my iPhone would connect to the amp for maybe a minute and everything would work, and out of nowhere while I’m tweaking my amp settings using the app it just stops working. I try connecting my phone to it the amp again and it doesn’t connect at all. I go back to the regular app screen and I can’t touch anything it just stays frozen. Yamaha please fix the app! It’s so good when it works! Show more

    Still not working with iOS 14.3
    Was hopeful that the 14.3 update would fix the Bluetooth connectivity issues. It didn’t and I tried everything - uninstalling the app, forgetting the devices and reinstalling - you name it. I’m surprised that a few reviews say that the 14.3 update fixed it. It didn’t on my iPhone 11. Nothing worked. Yamaha - PLEASE - fix this!!! If I didn’t have an old iPhone with 14.0 on it, I would have returned the amp by now. It shouldn’t take months for a Bluetooth connectivity issue like this to be remedied when it’s absolutely critical to the functionality of the amp. If you’re considering this amp - wait until they have a fix that’s verified. The description saying that 14.3 fixed the issue is not correct - at least not in my case. Will update my review immediately if a fix materializes. Show more

    Terrible user experience
    This app occasionally works where changes in the settings on the app go directly to the amp over Bluetooth but it works so rarely that it isn’t even worth the space it takes up on an iPhone. Whatever “updates” have recently been done have ruined what little functionality this app has. If you connect the usb on the amp to your computer then you can change some of the settings in the desktop app but what is the point of having a portable amp like this if the portable app on your phone doesn’t work? Yamaha needs to spend some time doing something about this app. Why do other less expensive practice amps have much better apps? Show more

    Useless with latest update
    The app is completely useless since the last update. Won’t connect with the amp. Please revert to the old version until a fix is available.

    New User Experience
    I installed this app on my iPad and connected my THR30 II. That was the only thing that worked. I have to reload the app each time I want to try to change a preset to check out all the tones. It has not been a great user experience. I was hoping to create and save several of my own tones, but why fret when the app might crash again and wipe my hard work. Disappointing because the hardware is very good. Show more

    Bluetooth bug.. (14.3 update fixed)
    Update: I’ve had success with it after the iOS 14.3 update. IPhone seems to stay connected now. I’m using a THR-30IIA. As the app description says, theres a Bluetooth bug that needs desperate fixing. Until then, I wouldn’t recommend using the THR Remote app, unless you enjoy hours of frustration. Hopefully a fix is coming soon. That said, the app itself offers parameters over what the hardware includes such as certain EQ and compression. Now if I could only use them. :-/ Show more

    App works perfectly on iOS 14.3
    All the reviews saying the app doesn’t work aren’t relevant anymore. Apple messed up some Bluetooth functions in 14.2 that are now fixed. The issue wasn’t even Yamahas fault.

    Bluetooth stopped connecting
    After app and firmware update Bluetooth can no longer connect iPad or iPhone to amp. Please fix. Update: issue fixed.

    Essential app that’s fragile to iOS updates
    This app extends the THR amp’s adjustability and preset storage capacity. The popup box asking to load a new preset while discarding changes to the current preset freezes the app. Preset selections without changes during use don't invoke the popup box and hence don't freeze the app. Please fix. Show more

    Good app until Apple 14.2 update
    Bluetooth support features are not working with iOS 14.2 They know about it but still no fix yet. Now people buying this great amp will not rate it well based on this issue. I would have gave 5 stars until this bug. Support has been slow to correct it and they better get it corrected before it damages the Yamaha THR-30II name. Show more

    They broke what didn’t need fixing. Why???
    Not sure what’s going on, but this app/amp combo has gone from awesome to a waste of time and a big headache. To the developers - please “update” to the previous software version. This is the common sense thing to do yet you appear to be ignoring your screwup. You’ve put out a poor work product, now take it back. Plus who was even asking for a software update. This app used to be so good, now it won’t even Bluetooth sync with the amp (even when the iPad itself is easily syncing to the amp when I play music through it) To anyone considering buying a THR - don’t buy it until they fix their software or you’re wasting your money.     Used to work now it doesn’t
    Spent 300+ on this box and its a great piece of hardware but to try to sell all the “on the go” customization options and have the app just not work is as lame as it gets, wont be buying the wireless version after this experience. Show more

    Was working but not anymore
    It was working great in the first few months. But i think an upgrade broke the Bluetooth connectivity. I have reset the amp, deleted the app and reinstalled. The Midi controller doesn’t work at all Show more
