Won’t even connect via Bluetooth to my new Roland piano. I’ve tried everything several times. This piano goes back to Costco with no box. Ha ha ha Roland!

I’ve tried this worthless app over the years. It’s almost impossible to connect to it easily if at all. You would hope that a Roland app would work with a Roland piano. Should have looked into another piano brand if this is what Roland delivers. Show more

What a buggy, useless, and lazy app. It seems as though Roland hired a third-party contractor to make this app solely so they could check off the “we have an app” box. The app is super buggy and prone to constant freezing and crashing. If only this was the worst of its problems. This app’s biggest problem is that it doesn’t do anything useful. And to add insult to injury, it comes tantalizingly close to what the app’s users obviously want. For example, the app lets you record what you play on the piano. Neat, right? Nope. You can’t export or share the audio recording. You can only listen to it in the app. And when you play it, it can only be heard through the piano’s headphones or speakers. This is mind-boggling dumb. Thankfully, you probably won’t have to deal with this annoyance because the app will likely crash halfway through recording. Each time I open the app, I have to pair the piano with it as if the app has never before connected to it. The interface looks like it was designed for the iPhone 3G and they couldn’t be bothered to update it any time in the ensuing fourteen years. I could go on and on, but I’ll stop here before I have an aneurysm. This app is a raging dumpster fire. Roland should be embarrassed. Show more

Roland came up with a new app that doesn’t work with any apple products. Tried to open the old Rolland app after downloading the new app, and now it doesn’t work with the old app either. Show more

When I record something it puts it in a different instrument but it is useful because you have access to more sounds and you can see all the songs there sheet music. It could use some fixing, but over kinda good Show more

App won’t recognize or pair with any of the current FP-__x models of Roland pianos.

Roland, pay your developers more. Buggy mess. And utterly useless waste on an iPhone 12. Tiny fonts like everything was designed for the largest iPad and copied over haphazardly.

Oh my goodness this app is borderline unusable. There has been a bug in this app for over a YEAR where if you tap the + button on the transpose scale, it will stay activated transpose the maximum number of half steps upwards. The “recorder” page is immanently broken. I literally could not leave this page. None of the buttons did anything. Had to close the app to escape. Also split piano is worthless- you can’t sustain the left split, the sustain only works for the right split! What’s the point??? Seriously Roland please do better. Please try. Please pretend to care. This is literally more frustrating and harmful than helpful. Just don’t offer an app if you’re gonna give it out to contractors for the lowest possible price and market your piano as having app integrations. This ain’t it. Show more

Connecting to piano always takes multiple tries. Disconnects by itself while app is in use then refuses to reconnect. Record function only works some of the time. My Roland piano has lots of great features available (only) through this app but the app is such a nuisance to use, and not at all dependable. Seriously, had I known it was so bad I would not have bought this particular model. Not a happy customer! Please update ASAP. Show more

Please can someone fix the recording button! Anything over four minutes cannot be saved or load it’s a real pain when you’re trying to record and you play the song and it won’t save. Show more

Kinda buggy

I have not been successful in getting my Roland RP-102 piano to save my preferences as new default settings (the piano’s manual describes how to use the ‘function’ and ‘volume up’ buttons to do this). Since the app is designed to change these settings, why isn’t there a button in the app to save a new default? Seems like an obvious oversight to me… Show more

I bought to start using some the variable programming features of the app and piano. Piano connects to iPad everytime, but never works in the app. I’ve done all the reset, closing, and repairing I care to do. And it still doesn’t work. It’s crap! Too bad…I wish I knew before spending a grand on the piano. Let me know when you come out with a new app; until then I’ll keep using my Steinway. Show more

Too many steps to connect via Bluetooth. USB connection stopped working reliably when iOS updated. The app disconnects when it is minimized. Can’t access diary or recordings outside of the app. Many app features are not available unless connected to the piano. Show more

I’m stuck using Piano Partner 1 because this app supports the discontinued FP-30 but not the FP-30X. Please update the app to support the FP-30X.

This app was made like 30 years ago? A simple update would make it significantly better. Redesign it kiddos

This app worked perfectly when we first got our piano. However, a couple months later, it just stopped syncing. It can’t find our piano at all and there’s no help from anywhere how to fix it. The app was a huge reason we bought this particular keyboard and now it’s useless. Roland, do better! Show more

This app is grossly antiquated and glitchy. The developer had to be smoking pot when they developed this app or something.

The App seems to work ok. But the orientation of the screen should include portrait as well as landscape, I use a sheet music app in portrait on stage which having to turn the iPad from portrait to landscape is annoying. Also the contrast with dark gray on light gray doesn’t help when in contrasting light that you get with on stage isn’t helpful. Show more

And you can’t set different volume for the drums and the piano, so you get the drums very loud in your headphones. Could have been a good app…
