So glad I can access KCRW, even when I’m not driving in my car!

Seems version 5.2.8 may have a battery drain bug. Battery life went from 98% to 66% after about an hour of streaming a show this morning. Earlier versions of the app would only reduce the battery life by 10% to 15% after an hour of streaming. This is based on the battery usage indicator. Show more

App constantly stops playing. WiFi and 5G only plays for a few minutes and I have to restart it.

Big fan of KCRW music and appreciate this app! But.. I used to be able to play My Songs through Apple Music. Now, even though it says my account is connected to Apple Music, I only get a 30 second preview (I pay for the Apple Music service). Would love to have the same level of integration as provided for Spotify. Thanks! Show more

Good app! Love this station

I love KCRW and am a member, however for the past year the app plays and then stops playing for no reason. I thought at one point it was due to my Samsung Note 8, but then I upgraded to an Apple 12 and the problem still exists. I can only listen uninterrupted when at home and and on my wireless network. I miss walking my dog and listening to Morning Edition. Please KCRW fix this issue that seems to plague so many of your fans and members! Show more

Dang, is this still a thing? Yes, I guess so. Used this app for a couple hours in the morning. 6 hours later, the app has drained 67% of my battery while not in use. Hope this issue is resolved.soon. Show more

Update: The developer response time and fix is awesome. 5 stars all the way. Current app version with corrected font size is so much easier to navigate! Thanks for getting back to me! Why did the font have to get so large? I don’t know if this is a glitch or if the developer meant to do this. Before the last update, the font size was perfect. I still enjoy listening but it’s so difficult to navigate now. I would say 5 stars for the station and 2 stars for current app version. My suggestion: Go back to the way it was. Show more

There’s a lot to like about the KCRW app, but the fundamental stupidity of making the playlist unable to update unless the app is playing audio overshadows most of it. The app could be pretty useful as a real-time playlist display while you’re listening to the station on a different device, even, say, an old fashioned radio. But no. Can’t do that. The playlist stops updating if the app isn’t rendering audio. This is probably a political choice by Spotify, the source of a kit on which the app is built, but I can’t understand the rationale for the restriction. Compare to the app for KEXP for an example of how a Public Radio music app can and should work. Show more

I adore KCRW — I’m a member and listen to it every day. This app is ok, but I feel it could be better; it’s quite glitchy at times. What I’m really not happy with is that apparently it’s no longer possible to connect an Apple Music account. I don’t have Spotify and I’m not willing to open a Spotify account in addition to my Apple Music account. Please bring back the Apple Music feature. Show more

I’ve been using this app for years and now all of a sudden it won’t play any past shows whatsoever. Very frustrating. I’ve tried restarting the phone closing all apps and reloading the app but nothing seems to help. Great station but not much good if you can’t listen to it. Show more

Love kcrw - after last update, stops playing when phone locks, or another app like maps! Cant play in Car or on walk - it always shuts off- please fix its been months like this ? Show more

For whatever reason, Eclectic 24 rarely updates the info about the streaming music.

App stops playing when in the background. App also does not play when the phone “Silent Mode” switch is set to silent. Apparently this is an iOS 15 issue not an issue with the app. Updated the review to 4 stars. Show more

Great public radio if not the best in the West. Discovered this member-supported station over fm waves driving here in LA but no matter where I find myself, I’ll always be streaming. Astonishing DJ’s - total taste-maker roster. Get introduced to new artists via some of the most talented music-curators breathing. Get local and national news with NPR! Listen to Press Play with Madeline Brand! All things considered from NPR! As for the app performance, it can be buggy at times but nothing major. e.g. App won’t play when switching to another? Just close it out and open again. Overall, I give this app 4 and half stars because it doesn’t play Jason Bentley when tuning in for MBE for some reason :/ Show more

I have used this app for years. Love the content but latest release is very glitchy. Please fix!

The new update is awful. First, the app stops playing music when the phone is locked, must be awake, resulting in no longer being able to listen to past shows while on the road. Second, songs saved to "my songs" are now limited to a 30 second preview. The best part of the app was being able to listen to songs and save them to 'my songs' and enjoy them in full at a later time. The only two reasons why I used the app are no longer functional. PLEASE FIX THESE ISSUES. Show more
