    Only one quiz
There's only one quiz where you sight read single notes.

    Good for reference, not learning
I was looking for a learning tool, not a reference. As such, I was pretty disappointed in the quizzes (even the 'advanced' quizzes), which are just sight-reading exercises. I could see it being a good reference once you already know music theory. Show more

    Disappointed
The "quizzes" just show a note and you have to name it. I have seen better free pianos. Always crashes. Waste of my money, waste of my time. DO NOT BUY Show more

    Great app!
It would be great if you had a view of the notes on the sheet music for all keys, above the keys, so I could memorize them. Also, put names of keys on the keys. Also provide way to record what we play, with notes on the sheet music? Otherwise , great for learning about music! Show more

    Awesome app! Full of potential.
This app is awesome graphically and as a reference. As far as the quizzes go, there needs to be a little more depth (chords possibly, maybe an "endless" note mode within a certain time frame, etc), and in the "piano" feature, there needs to be support for playing chords. It would be cool also if there were built in lessons to help master the material within the app, but perhaps that is beyond the scope of this app. Well done! Also, support for guitars, or even a separate app with the same level of excellence would be awesome. I would buy that immediately! Show more

    Love This App :)
This app is the best if you want to learn music and notes. Playing the piano on my IPod Touch is so much fun. I'm about to buy the iPad2 and I will download this app on it also. Show more

    Thank you!
This is one of the best Piano-Apps for IPhone I have found. Tried several - this replaces all of them!

    Worth the money
The advanced quizzes are very helpful, and the reference section is the best I've seen. It helps, too, that the developer is very responsive to suggestions. Would give this 5 stars if I could change the number of quiz questions. Show more

    Getting Good!!!
First off, the app is actually $2.99 + tax, not $4.99 as listed on iTunes, not sure why that's what it indicates. Anyway, the app itself is pretty awesome! It's helping tremendously with relearning how to read music and it's also full of useful references. Personally I'm a huge fan of the timed quiz in which you have to identify the correct notes. There is an easy one and a more advanced one which is helpful. There are a couple of little glitches but I am sure they are being worked on as the developer is very open and communication with him has been great. I found that if you encounter any issues at first, you may need to remove it and reinstall, since doing that it's been working consistently. This is such a great tool for musicians of all levels! Highly recommend this and am telling fellow musicians all about it. Show more

    Great app
This is the best music app I've used. A great great teaching tool. I'm learning to play sax and knowing all the scales and being able to read is essential. With this app you have the visual and sound. I can't say enough. Show more

    Great App, Awesome Developer
Most polished and well made music theory app out there. The reference tools include everything you could need, an the quiz is a great way to keep you sharp. Not only that, but the developer took the time to personally respond to my email of suggestions and questions. This app is already worth the download, but with the developer's openness to ideas and suggestions, and what he shared with me about 2.0, I wouldn't be surprised to see this become the must-download app for all musicians. Smooth Practicing
It seems they've ironed out the issues this once had. This is a very good app which I use every day. Tremendous resource & great for practicing.

    Over Priced
I was expecting a whole lot more for five dollars. This app needs to be 99 cents.

    Not for students
As an educator, I was really hoping that this would be an app that I could use in my general music classroom. After looking through the reference area, I noticed that the note D-flat is displayed as a D-sharp, and similarly with other notes. Did anyone check this app before it was rolled out to the public? Whoever designed this app, I invite you to my music class, where you may learn the difference between flats and sharps. Is the updated version correct? Do I have to pay to get the problems fixed? As it stands, great potential, but really not worth a hill of beans for anyone looking to really learn anything. Show more

    EXTREMELY HELPFUL APP!
I can't tell you how often I open up this app per day! It's MANY TIMES! I am taking piano lessons and one of the things that I always found myself doing, before I got this app, was thinking about my music lessons throughout the day and wishing I could have someway of refreshing and testing my skills and knowledge on the go. WELL.... THEN CAME NOTA! It's just great! I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS APP! It really does what I needed it to do, which is test me, quiz me, answer questions i have about chord construction, scale construction, etc. It's SO HANDY! LOVE IT! Show more
