    So good
You gotta have this app. I use it to look up the names of chords and hear them played.

    Just needs...
More quizzes. For every material you have on there. I'm really liking the notes quiz. Because of the staff and the pause button.

    Good and getting better
This is the most comprehensive music reference app on iTunes. There are some small problems here and there but overall this app is great. The developer is responsive to feedback and is continually working to improve Nota to make it the best music reference on iTunes. It includes correct spellings of chords and scales (ignore the example screenshot of a C7 chord above; it's from a previous version) and also has a quiz function that allows the user to improve their music theory knowledge. I am looking forward to the next update. Show more

Errors make this useless to learn from
At first this app seemed pretty great, especially the little quiz portion. However there is one major flaw: in the part where you press a key and it shows the lettered notation, it uses the improper names. Example: when you hit G, it shows up as G, A, B, C, D, E, G Flat, G. G Flat and G is incorrect; although they keys are correct, it should end with F Sharp, G. There should never be two alike letters next to each other in notation. This would be a 4 star app but if you expect people to learn from this, then you are mistaken and this should be fixed. Show more

    Ignore Negative Reviewers
This app is amazing for anyone trying to learn music theory or become a quicker sight reader needs to get this. People on the app store forget that IF a book could do what this app can do it'd be 20 to 25 dollars. You're getting one dev's months of hard work for 2.25$ less than base pay. Stop whining because it doesn't have 300 dollars worth of material on it - go to college and get a textbook and a class for that. This app does what it claims to do and it does it well. Buy it or visit your local bookstore and get a downgraded version of the same thing for four times the price. Show more

Terrific for music students and fun for everybody
My daughters, studying piano and violin have been using this to practice their sight reading and tap out notes on the keyboard. The reference is definitely going to be useful to all. I also had great support from this independent developer, who cares about his users and is highly responsive. Highly recommended! Show more
