    Worthless
The MAC version does not work as a remote control for B.B. It will not connect to the pgmusic Servers.

Too hard to use. Downloading of file is iffy. Instructions unintelligible. Yuk.

Useless application for my iPad. The desktop version is great but I am very disappointed that PG hasn’t fix this application that supposed to work with the iPhone and iPad. Show more

    Servers?!?
Give me a break! I gave up after 18 minutes of trying to figure out the iOS version. I think you have to know DOS do use this app. I remember using the PC version of this program years ago. It was fantastic. Extremely easy. This is not. Show more

    Terrific! But needs an update.
I've been using BIAB for years to create backing tracks. I do that on my desktop version, then transfer them to my iPad version. The iPad sits comfortably on my music stand next to my lead sheets (which are on an IPad Pro) so that the audience doesn't see any electronics. It does need an upgrade though, particularly a button to change a song to the next one in a single step. Show more

    Agreed: worthless.
After about 100 tries to connect, and numerous re-readings of the the help guide still no luck. I don't have an IT degree, but then again I shouldn't need one...

    Great App!
I downloaded this app once before and couldn't figure it out once the server screen came up. Then I read all the terrible reviews and decided it wasn't worth the trouble. But then I decided to spend some time figuring it out and found that this app is really cool. I have a MacBook Air, so I can't actually create or modify songs on the app, but that's fine. Here's what I can do. I use Mac BIAB to create a BIAB file (MGU or SGU) and render it as an audio file. Then I save/export BOTH files to Dropbox. Thought the IOS app, I download BOTH files (that's the trick - your need both files!). Now when I select OPEN on the IOS app, the name of the song appears, and I can open it. It sounds great (since it's an MP4) and since the MGU/SGU is open too, the chord changes appear on the screen like they do in the desktop BIAB. So I can now use my iPhone or iPad with my piano and play through songs without having to set up a laptop. There needs to be specific Mac instructions so more people can figure this out. My only complaint about PGmusic is that they are so Windows-centric. But the new BIAB 2016 is fantastic for Mac so I can't complain too much. Show more

    Useless
I have and enjoy using BIAB on my MacBook Pro. Insofar as I have been able to determine, the iPad version is totally useless. I cannot generate original scores with it, nor can I use existing scores from my MacBook Pro on it. Show more

    No love for mac users?
Please add Mac OS functionality. What a great idea for an app for those who use BB but for those of us who use Mac, its currently kind of pointless : ( will change to five stars when mac functionality added. Show more

    Don't buy
Non functional, non intuitive, worthless waste of time and money. I have used desktop version on and off since early 90's and though I'm amazed at how little progress PG music has made I can at least use it for something. This? No. Show more

    No Mac
Enter IP address for server. What does that mean? Again no Mac Well. I guess they don't know the answer. Otherwise they would answer. So far this app doesn't do anything. You have to have an IP address for some server. But it doesn't say what or where the server is. I guess I'll delete it again until they tell me. Both of their apps seem to have the same problem. I have some friends who know how to create iOS apps maybe they would like a referral. Show more

    No on-gig functionality
Apps like this make you wonder if PG Music knows who their customer is. I’ve run BIAB desktop for over 10 years and have taken audio exports on-stage but, once written as an audio file, can’t modify tempo, key, volume, instrument choice, etc., etc. My hope with this app was primarily be able to cut a voice should I have someone sit in, like a guitarist, where I could cut out that voice. Or maybe change the key should a vocalist show up. No way. Even though the app implies that it has these functions in its menu settings this is nothing more than a .mp4 audio player unless tethered to the BIAB server. You can make the function changes but when you try to “regenerate” the song it wants connection to your BIAB server at home. Not so hot when on a gig! I don’t mind having spent the small change for the app but when I found out I had to upgrade from BIAB 2011 to make it work I spent some hard-earned gig money….. for nothing more than an .mp4 player. I’m afraid for BIAB sake they're going to loose some loyalty in their fans if they trip them up with false hopes. Show more

    Horrible
I don't think they could have made this more complicated if they tried. I'm pretty techy and this made NO sense to me!

    Works well
Needs a prefs for remaining open when app is open. Continual closing is annoying, otherwise does what it suppose to do. Lets me take the band in the box songs from my computer with me so I can practice. Show more

Very inconvenient and of poor quality you should be able to play the chords you input without wifi
I shouldn't have to have wifi to use an app on my phone when I own band in a box the full software

    Far from prime time!
I'm a long-time BIAB user on Mac. The Mac version has always lagged behind the PC version, but still very useful! I was excited to know there was an iOS version, but it's almost worthless! To change ANY parameters; chord, key, anticipation, form, etc. it has to access a "server" in your computer! No local processing whatsoever! Do yourself a favor and get iReal b which has a better interface and display of chord charts! Peter Gannon innovated the whole instant-band from chords idea, but this App is a FAIL! Show more
