While starting to learn chanting with a Greek Orthodox church, I found out about the WorldScales app. With it, I can set the correct pitches for the various scales, something that thousands of other musical apps cannot do. I was delighted to see that not only can the user set pitch adjustments on each key, but it has the soft chromatic scale and Byzantine Mode 2 available directly from a menu. That was exactly what was needed for the music I was practicing. I was a little bummed because running on a MacBook the user interface is not as convenient as it would be for a touch screen on an iPad. But then I was completely delighted to discover the WorldScales' MIDI feature in the settings, connect my keyboard via USB cable, and it just worked. That's an even better UI than a touch screen. This app is very good and i haven't seen anyother app like it. However I'm having problems lately , playing some keys makes the key turn color but it doesn't sound any sound. Show more

The last update of this application does not work please check it.

Please add a feature that allow us to make a full screen keyboard or keys resizing option, they are very small and i can't play them well

Seems like a cool app, although it no longer works with Audiobus now until they update their audiobus implementation.

I can't even believe this app exists, it's just so amazing! It will clearly take me to a whole new level in music appreciation and understanding, and composition inspiration. Knowing ancient scales is not enough. The actual tuning used by that culture is crucial to hearing the sound, for example with the Byzantine tunings. And while certain other western and also Hindustani tunings that I want are not included in the presets, at least I can manually create and save them...just as good! And besides keyboard, I know I will have fun on my cello by training my ear to these tunings, as a fretless instrument can play in any tuning. So many new possibilities! Overall I am so happy I discovered this app. Show more

Coming from a western background, the hardest part of learning Byzantine music are the 72 moria scale. I was blown away that this app had it and the Greek modes. Thank you thank you thank you! Show more

Thanks for adding Audiobus to the already special set of features World Scales has. You can get sounds and playing out of this that you can't get out of 99% of the other apps out there, because of its special temperaments and scales. I haven't been this fired up about a music app in a long time! Thanks again!!! Show more

Good sounds but I m still waiting on customer support from MONTHS ago to fix these issues...too busy to fix your app or respond to customers?

For as long as I wanted to buy a keyboard, supports the oriental scal. There is no need now for a spend big money for buy a keyboard.

If you have been searching all your life for a way to playback your microtonal music from Finale, for example, this app does it. I can't wait for the next update. Show more

I am a chanter and reader in the Orthodox church. This wonderful app acts as both a tool for use during services AND a tool for learning. Previous alternatives were to purchase a machine from Greece, and they were less than ideal. The audio in this app is digitized from chapters with beautiful voices, rather than a mechanical droning buzz. THANK YOU for this work! Show more

this abs is good to play with but crash too many times and sounds like a toy. I had fun with it tho.

Good if you use iPad screen for playing Have a lots of problems using external midi , pitch not working , crash many times .....reverb quality is so bad , simply its not for serious using . Need an update with a lots of fixes and improvements ... Show more

****Update**** In the new update you will find added new useful sounds ready to go for stage use, thanks again KELFAR tech.... This is worth every penny. Thanks KELFAR for this APP, it's very useful and is a great tool for learning scales. The functions and the interface are so user friendly. A Nice variety of sounds are included. I especially love the Strings and Kanun sounds. A must have APP for any oriental musician or any one that wants to learn eastern scales. Show more
