    Very irritating
It was working fine but then all of a sudden there’s tones of static on all drum sounds!! Please fix!

    Issues
It’s Not quite there yet. I have found many issues. Flaming or flanging out of phase of drum hits for one. No real sense of velocities in the playing, which makes for a very unrealistic drum track. I am disappointed in the app at this stage of its development. There’s many others out there now that are far more realistic sounding because of multi-samples, and velocities being implemented. They need to have that in this app ASAP. For the money I would have expected it be implemented already. Ghost notes etc. are non existent. Show more

    Great app
Sometimes I need to program a beat/drumloop for a song on the fly, quickly, and I’m not always in front of my computer or in the studio. These app gets me close to it. The samples are very good and the different feels on each loop are very useful. The export feature is very useful also as I can upload to Google drive, edit in Audioshare and much more. It does lack in Latin Jazz or Latin rhythms but usually I need these to program quickly loops for Christian Rock when the drummer won’t show upto a service. Usually I use an iMac with Stylus RMX and Easy Drummer to get loops, edit them and bounce Intro, verse, bridge, chorus, etc. I’ve tried different drum iOS apps but none have ever gotten close to decent samples until now. X drummer is truly impressive. When it comes to features, I wish you could midi edit the existing loops and that each midi note had access to velocity controls or at least a volume per part, it would be nice to have more control on the dynamics of each loop, other than that I see no fault with these app, I was able to find and fine tune a 6/8 feel loop with a rim shot in less than 10 mins. I should say that the export was not exact but I did further editing of the resulting audio file on audioshare and I could trim a perfect loop ready to use with Novation Launchpad (which I use to trigger loops) I’ve have used the drums in GarageBand iOS to make loops which proved a bit difficult with less quality on the samples, yet usable. However X drummer really takes it to the next level, reminiscent of Easy Drummer 2, way better than DrumPerfectPro. I gave it 4 starts because I’m reserving the fifth star for when they add MIDI editing (the ability to edit the loops) MIDI control (the ability to trigger the loops with a controller) individual volumes or velocity for each part of the Drums (bass drum, hi hat, toms, etc,) maybe it could be implemented with a mixer for the drums. And also the ability to program your own loops using the samples available. All and all this is a great app and I do recommend it! One huge drawback is that it does not support Bluetooth speakers or headphones so for those of us that like to program on the go with a iPad Pro unless you have wired headphones you are stuck with the tiny sound of the iPad speakers, that can also be disturbing for other people, what if I want to work on a drum track on a long flight, or on a public place the all new iOS devices don’t have a headphone input anymore so not supporting Bluetooth it’s a huge overlook. Missing the freedom of a sequencer
I so much want to use these drums in my projects and my clients projects but without a sequencer we are somewhat limited. Please incorporate one and I guarantee this app will be one of the best. Thanks. Show more

    I like it!
X-Drummer allows this non-drummer to string together a “song” in minutes. I like the toggle for the virtual midi port so I can have my MIDI keyboard plugged in and not trigger drum sounds if I don’t want to. The Export feature is good for moving a completed set of patterns to Cubasis. What is missing? I would love to have a way to send the live MIDI output of the drums to other apps, rather than exporting. This would allow me to fill the gaps of drum kits missing in X-Drummer via Cubasis Classic Machines, as an example. Show more

    Excessive Battery usage
I had to delete the app. According to my iPad’s Battery usage indicators, X Drummer is using 57% because it’s audio is supposedly running in the background; however, I went into settings and ensured that it was off after I installed the app. The fix to that bug should definitely receive priority. Needs to export stems
It’s ok, lots of room for improvement, would like to be able to export stems for starters.

    Very unhappy
This app does not do what it said it would. I get it to sample my song and it picks he can’t attract it isn’t even close. It cannot be edited to fit what I’m doing. This is a toy and I need a real drum track that I can Adjust to fit the song. Complete waste of money. Garage band is better. I want a refund. You have made it impossible to get one. Show more

    It’s promising, but...
I have several positive grid apps, all are great. So when this was being released, I couldn’t wait. Finally it was released, and....it’s disappointing. Sounds aren’t bad, patterns aren’t very good in any style. It’s ok, updates are coming. Well, after several updates, this is the app that I use....almost never. If I could do it over, I would not purchase this app. I wouldn’t have it on my iPad even if it was free. It may be useful in very limited situations, but there are far better apps available. Very Disappointed
I’m incredibly disappointed for several reasons. The first and most important reason is that it simply doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do. The app will not create or find a beat that comes anywhere close to what I’m playing. It changes the tempo, time signature, etc. there is an immense amount of static and other noise while playing and the user interface is very sloppy and not friendly at all. Overall, I’m very disappointed with this and even more upset that I paid for it. Show more

    Getting there
Newly designed UI and added features are a big step forward. IAA is finally working better too. I have been feeling underwhelmed by this app before, but i am happy to see the series of updates have finally made this a more enjoyable experience and a more usable tool. I can finally start recommending this app as a very useful song writing tool and good drum app for your projects. I would still like to hear some richer and more punchy metal drums though. Have a listen to the metal kits from the DrumKnee 3D app and you see how thin and small the kits of X Drummer reslly sound. Show more

    All loops, No custom Beats
Really wish there was the ability to make custom beats. This app sounds great, but there are times that I just can’t find the correct beat for a project.

    Disappointed
While I find the samples to be of good quality, this app needs serious development to make it worth the price paid for it. I'm on an iPad 4, and that may be part of the problem, but if it is, PG should note that in the description. This app is slow, full of static noise, even when just browsing samples and unusable with IAA/Jamup. Suggestion, make a trial/free version so people can test this on their devices without throwing cash into the app toilet. Good idea, bad reality - I'm uninstalling and writing off this too expensive app as a total loss. Show more

    Disappointing
I bought this at full price because I like and have all of the company’s amps and fx. It came with a very limited selection of drums for the price. The sounds are pretty good. Now I see that they are selling new content instead of upgrading the content for customers which they had talked about. Definitely one of my more disappointing purchases. Show more

This is a somewhat interesting metronome
It sort of figures out what you’re playing. The tracks are all OK but you’re not going to write songs with this. You’ll get your timing a little tighter, which you could do with a metronome. This app is too expensive and it seems like they’d like to sell me more tracks but clicking the link Unlock All Tracks crashes the app. You can do better Positive Grid. Show more

    Awful
This app was such a major disappointment...I was totally naive and believed that when a company of this caliber says that it's app is like playing with a session Drummer, I believed them....Please read the reviews before wasting your money. I better get mine back. Show more

    Drum Sounds Piss Poor
    What a shame.
