The sound quality is terrible and yes I am using an external mic. The one Ive been using for years.

I found this app useful but missing some basic functions that should be included. The ability to choose your save location to help preserve your write cycles on your ssd a must have. the ability to control or adjust the input volume with the app also very much needed for my use. I really like this app, works great on my 2009 Mac Pro, I have head set that has a built in mic so now I don't have to use the app in my phone. Great app and you can send the recordings through your email. Show more

Almost everything for doing a simple stereo recording is there. Has an Input selection menu. You can move your playhead on a playback timeline. You can select the recording for playback in front of you. However, you cannot monitor what you are recording while it is being recorded. Missing for me is a volume control. You must have enough level of audio from your source. Otherwise, this app works for me. Show more

This app is very user friendly and has straight forward controls...great for simple voiceover recordings and the like.

Simple app with more adds than controls. This is just a simple recorder. Audacity is much better choice to record a podcast o anything else

I have done full recording studio work at one time in my life. Let me tell you, I have no idea how any of that stuff works. There are wayyyy too many buttons and dials. When I announced some years ago that I want to do podcasts, there were so many suggestions to put up baffles, change a room in my house one way or another, buy certain software; I was turned off. Now, I know I'll probably put this in audacity or something to edit for sound level management. But, overall, this has been a great, simply, and quick option to make sure I record what's on my mind to address my listeners at the moment I think of something. I can always go back to edit. Since COVID forced us to start recording podcasts remotely, I needed something simple that could record high-quality audio to .wav format on OSX. This program does the trick beautifully.
