As we all know, the Control and Stream apps, up until about four months ago, were utterly worthless. Those of us wanting to stream Tidal had no other option (of which I am aware) than to pay for Roon. Finally, they got around to fixing the connectivity issues. But… the highest Tidal quality available using the Stream app remains HiFi. We need a Tidal Master option! Show more

Title says it all, it’s literally the worst app I’ve ever used. I’m not even going to do a rundown of all the issue because obviously nobody from KEF cares, but the biggest issue is that 99% of the tracks on my phone are greyed out and cannot be played in the app. These are tracks physically stored on my device not in some cloud streaming service somewhere. I am in the same camp as most here. Love the speakers, the software is outrageously bad. Even worse is KEF’s complete lack of interest in their product and customer satisfaction. At AXPONA (before KEF had their temper tantrum) people were lined up outside the door for these with credit cards ready. Your just going to ignore these people?! KEF are you going to do anything to make your product useable? This thing is awful! Show more

App constantly not working

I am convinced KEF does not test and use their own software. Otherwise they would know that their upnp does not work. Streaming device cannot stream from UPnP. Keep up good work or better hire Naim software team. Show more

It was working ok up to this update or my iphone 12 Pro Max on iOS.

Can’t remember a year when streaming apps were so hard to use and sooooo slooooow.

Clear and simple... the app do not work and make the speakers very disappointing!

Ls50w speakers are pretty good but streaming music to them is a nightmare. The app seldom connects. I typically have to reinstall the app and reconfigure the setup EVERY TIME I USE THE SPEAKERS. so sad Show more

KEF Control found my speaker but KEF Stream does not. So frustrating because all support links like FAQ or even App Store app support are broken links at best.

Most basic functions don’t work. Can’t play a track , skip to next one etc from library. A school student could do better. Should be removed from App Store Show more

Unusable and unstable - poorly written app.

Any time I invoke the app, it cannot connect or turn on. Customer support is no real help, and eventually suggests a reinstall. Which I’d do but for spending a lot of time with it dialing in my sound for my room—which would be lost upon deletion. So I’m stuck using a remote :/ which was not the point at all. Show more

KEF makes wonderful speaker and they make worst app. sametime this apps have so many error the connection between speaker and this app is unstable. some time i can not volume down. this app makes me mad after update, lost connecting. cannot connect again Show more

So, so buggy. Most of the time, it can’t locate the speakers on the network even though Airplay finds them easily.

I can say with confidence that, during the past 1.5 year that I have owned my LS50W and this app, I spent more time resetting the speaker, turning my router on and off and trying with another phone than actually listening to music. I am quite tech savvy (I have a phd in computer science), yet these speakers and app still managed to frustrate me. I bought the speakers directly from kef.com. Customer service is non existent. Below is an email exchange between them and me: - Me: Hi kef, my ls50w cannot play AAC file. Can you help? - Me, after no answer for 3 months: Hi kef, my ls50w cannot play AAC file. Can you help? - Kef: “please check your spam filter as we have answered this question 3 months ago” - Me: I checked and it’s not there. Do you mind answer it again? To this day I haven’t heard back from them and I still don’t know whether the speaker can play AAC files or not. Show more

After succeeding to connect my LSX pair to home network by working hours with KEF Control app, this app can not find the speakers. Both KEF Control and this app give harm to KEF’s reputation. Show more

Wonderful speakers but the worst app ever! Unstable, cannot find the speakers most of the time, UI is extremely basic. Tidal implementation looks like a proof-of-concept attempt at best. If goes to background or the phone screen idles, loses the current song info, may even lose the speakers although any other app can easily find them. Seems to be a beta app, not past QA approval. When will it be actually released??? Show more

For a 2000 dollar speaker, I had spend more time trying to make this stupid app work than actually listening to music, not to say I have to pay 25.99 a month for a castrated edition of tidal. Show more
